Fantastic to kick off the term working with schools across the Wessex Multi-Academy Trust today. We explored evidence-informed pedagogical principles that support all children to be successful writers and then got stuck into trust-wide writing moderation. A jam-packed day! @literacytree.bsky.social

It’s a very egg-citing time for the Reception class at Weston Point Primary. Inspired by the brilliant book And Tango Makes Three, children are looking after some precious eggs of their own. And just like zookeeper Mr Gramzay, they are undertaking their very own Egg Watch! @literacytree.bsky.social

The Year 5s at Dulwich Wood Primary have been busy writing play scripts this morning! Children have created an additional scene for The Tempest, thinking carefully about how they can convey characters' thoughts and emotions through dialogue and stage directions. @literacytree.bsky.social

So excited to be co-planning for one of our newest Writing Roots this afternoon at Branfil Primary School! Riddle of the Runes combines Viking history and Norse mythology with an intriguing mystery for children to solve through narrative writing. A real Y4 treat.🕵️ @literacytree.bsky.social

🚀 Primary schools—this one’s for you! We’re inviting 130 schools to join a heavily subsidised, EEF-funded trial of Writing Roots, our book-based writing programme.📚 This is your chance to access £3,000+ worth of resources, books + training while contributing to a major study on writing engagement.

What a brilliant morning working with the Y5 & 6 children of Weston Point Primary Academy to plan our own Beowulf chapters. We've been busy creating our own monsters for Beowulf to battle and plotting out the key events of our stories. 🧌👹⚔️📖 Such creative ideas all round! @literacytree.bsky.social

We love it when our member schools get in touch to share children's work with us! The Year 4s at Julian's Primary School have been inspired by the brilliant book Weslandia and have created their own mini-civilizations and brochures to go with these. 🤩🌴📖 @literacytree.bsky.social

It was such a privilege to join in with Year 5 English lessons at Dulwich Wood Primary School today. Children have been busy writing character profiles of Ignatius Sancho, capturing his talents as an actor as well as his powerful contributions to the abolitionist movement. @literacytree.bsky.social

📚Happy Book Publishers Day! It’s through partnerships between publishers (like small b publishing and Cicada Books), our book supplier (Peters) and our resource writers here at Literacy Tree that we can provide children with the tools to grow, imagine, and discover new worlds through reading.
