Listening to the new Lusine album this morning. It's exceedingly chill, really enjoying it. It feels different (compared to his other releases) but need to spend more time with it to figure out what that difference is. #Lusine

Anyone know what #LogicProbe are up to? I really enjoyed my interactions with them, but that was at least a decade ago.

I have been listening back a bit to some very early Logic Probe (Seattle electronic act) -- while certainly of a time and contained in the (old, deprecated?) genre of "IDM", they still seem like they were on to something. #LogicProbe

I don't ever want to claim better times or whatever, but I am glad to have been present for something that felt so magical. Someone out there correct my memory errors here #FSOL #FutureSoundOfLondon #ISDN

While we in SoCal only got the ISDN audio feed (I think it was routed through New York?), we did get to see the folks at the New York listening session -- and seeing people communicate via video at the time felt very StarTrek-like to me. #FSOL #FutureSoundOfLondon #ISDN

At the time technology was very different, and the experience of a live feed from Europe (via ISDN) was something magical. #FSOL #FutureSoundOfLondon #ISDN

FSOL's ISDN (1994) was always so good even though it sounds fairly simple. Definitely the #FSOL album I gravitated to the most. It probably (definitely) helped that I got to hear one of the #ISDN performances (that led to the album) live in a Santa Monica coffee shop. #FutureSoundOfLondon

The Señor Coconut mix of Nurse With Wound's "(I don't want to have) Easy Listening Nightmares" is really nice. It manages to capture the spirit of both projects in a really slick way. I am impressed. #NurseWithWound #SenorCoconut #AtomHeart #AliceTheGoon

#Stano has a wide variety of work going back to the 80s (1983?). I have had a hard time grabbing on to his "sound", likely because I have been listening to various tracks produced over a wide span of time -- so that is not criticism, just a comment.

I appreciate that there is a collection of Penal Colony's work, including some of the demos that we were likely hearing (or hearing live versions of) at the time. "Extremist" was one of my favorites, and this Laurel Canyon Demo seems sound how I remember it #PenalColony

Penal Colony. There was a time when we used to chase this band around. I am sure we drove them mad. They seemed so unique and intense. I think in some ways they were. But I feel like everything I liked about them got swallowed by production by the time the music was released. #PenalColony

over the years, many times, I have thought to myself a track sounds nice, only to learn it is The Field or mixed by The Field. That sometimes-seemingly boring repetitiveness creeps in, in the best of ways. #TheField

Xinlisupreme is a band/artist I was enamored with years back, nice overlap of Shoegaze and noise (think the first Belong record maybe?), though recently they have been doing this hyper anime-hiphop thing -- one that still oddly meshes with their old style. Japan #xinlisupreme

Anyway, I suppose #sprints are my favorite "rock band" at the moment, and nicely fall outside my normal listening spectrum.
000
Christopher Bradbury @listentostatic.bsky.social · 16/02/2026
In that regard the #sprints concert was absolute fun, and sincerely was a wild and wonderful time. SPRINTS is a band I would highly recommend -- on album and live and in interviews. They are so empathetic and thoughtful and compassionate -- and it runs deep into their music.

Christopher Bradbury @listentostatic.bsky.social · 16/02/2026
One things I appreciate about SPRINTS is that they seem to pull from so many sounds and emotions -- and in this regard, the concert I thought I wanted was not the show I attended. Instead the #sprints concert was full of appreciation and joy.

Saw SPRINTS last night for the final show of their US tour. I think going in I wanted a heavier, maybe more introspective and angsty show. but... #sprints

This strange 1981+ album may be my favorite holiday album. It has 8 editions, all with variations, with the later version being from 2017. I noticed a version on Bandcamp as well (which seems to have an extra song or two?)

I am not going to link the documentary here, but I appreciated it because while it covers an artist I admire, it also goes into a bit of criticism that I find quite valid (around what I might think of as appropriation/exoticism). Also, the bit of non-Western perspective is interesting. #muslimgauze

Digging the music of NKISI today. New to me, though what I have been listening to is a 1+ years old. Also, I feel like I need to publicly admit I enjoyed a Viagra Boys song. I am not proud of this.

#MakayaMcCraven will be in Seattle on 10/26. Don't think I can make the show, as it is pinned right between a work trip and an important-decision appointment, but still tempting all the same. There is an early show, hmm.
