I spent two years seconding things on the board! 😅 But seriously, the Memb at Large (and VP for that matter) roles meant a lot more back when we had an Executive Committee, so the job came with actual official voting power, such as for what items went in the regular school board meeting agendas, etc

Thanks for the correction, Beth. Was definitely not me. And you're right to Hmm. This is not okay behavior. SPS has a policy to prioritize STUDENT speakers; not students' parents, using their children to subvert the intention and spirit of that policy. Adults need to get in line.

Absolutely; unions work to negotiate fair contracts that include protections for workers. But when the farmers aren't providing the PPE that workers need, the UFW is meeting that urgent need, because if they don't, workers could die while the cases are litigated.

I’m honestly not sure what was worse - the several times CM Kettle tried to interrupt Monty (and then cut off Monty before he was finished talking), or the way he chastised him like a small child.This should not be allowable behavior for a Councilmember. I think CM Kettle needs to “STOP!”
