I am disturbed this morning to hear and confirm that white supremacist graffiti was painted on the side of Affton High School. This is a hate crime and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. I stand with Affton in rejecting this hateful attack and in seeking justice against the perpetrators.

It's disheartening that we have a POTUS that is exploiting the principles DEI to sow fear and division amongst the American people. DEI is not a political stance—it reflects universal human values of compassion, empathy, and a shared commitment to the well-being of all individuals.

What started as a thoughtful moment of silence and national mourning for the plane crash victims has turned into a terrifying political speech in which Trump appears to blame what happened on DEI efforts and a push for the FAA to hire people who lacked “intellectual superiority.”

“I had a feeling that there were people watching what was happening and wondering, Was anyone going to say anything?” Bishop Mariann Budde explained. “Was anyone going to say anything about the turn the country’s taking?” So, she took a breath, and spoke. nyti.ms/3WtmNY2
