The first fatty acid-binding structure in a “G-type lectin domain” among plant PRRs has been verified! A new LORE paper is out from Ranf lab at TUM in Germany and University of Fribourg in Switzerland and @antonelladipizio.bsky.social at TUM : doi.org/10.64898/202... Here are some cool highlights:

The plant immune receptor LORE binds agonistic and antagonistic 3-hydroxy fatty acid ligands via a dynamic loop in its G-type lectin domain
The Arabidopsis thaliana S-domain receptor kinase LORE senses bacterial medium-chain 3-hydroxy fatty acids (mc-3-OH-FAs) as microbe-associated molecular patterns to activate pattern-triggered immunity...

A new "LORE" paper is out from Ranf lab at TUM in Germany and University of Fribourg in Switzerland: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... Fatty acid-sensing receptors were previously only described in Arabidopsis. Do they function the same way in other plants?
