Lin Foxhall @linfoxhall.bsky.social · 03/07/2026It’s the whole idea of spoiling the glory of summer soft fruit by combining it in that way with any bread. It’s just a horrible concept. And somehow, it typifies British cuisine for me. On the whole I’m not a fan. 000

But, on most university websites you can look at staff members’ lists of publications which give you their research interests in some detail. A little more work, but more informative results. 000

Lin Foxhall @linfoxhall.bsky.social · 14/04/2026I am old enough to remember pre-email communications in academic workplaces. In the days of paper letters and memos there was at least as much junk and it took ten times as long to deal with. Honestly, in comparison email is a boon and a huge time-saver. Paper was much worse! 110
Lin Foxhall @linfoxhall.bsky.social · 13/04/2026I once had to write to the Guardian to tell them that their article about beef cattle was illustrated by a dairy herd. They changed the picture pretty fast. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one to contact them about this. 000

Lin Foxhall @linfoxhall.bsky.social · 12/05/2025UK universities depend on international students to subsidise UK students. @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social We have opportunities to recruit excellent international students as the USA becomes unwelcoming. Lin Foxhall @linfoxhall.bsky.social · 12/05/2025So disappointing to see Labour @labouruk.bsky.social @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social pandering to false narratives on immigration. Immigrants don’t steal jobs, housing, healthcare, school places. They treat patients, teach young people, build houses, pay taxes, improve growth. Change narratives! 020
Lin Foxhall @linfoxhall.bsky.social · 11/05/2025Really, Yvette Cooper @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social, do you actually think that care staff are ‘unskilled’?
