Made a promo vid for my next coloring book. Is it lazy? Yes. Is it all I’m willing to do since I’m making an entire fucking coloring book from scratch? Also yes. Seriously, y’all wouldn’t ask your gramma for a fancy promo video for that afghan you’ve been cuddling daily. youtu.be/87uA3IEwoEc?...

Been steady working on my site. It’s growing. Slowly. Somehow it ended up sardine themed. Started as “I wonder what that would look like” and turned into “that’s adorable. I’m keeping it.” I don’t recommend viewing it from your 📱. Maybe a tablet, definitely a 💻 or 🖥️. brooklyne.art

Original was drawn in 2020. The redraw was done tonight. I’m not settled on the colors yet, but the lineart is nice. Honestly, I’m glad I redrew this. I was so happy with the original for years, but lately, I felt bad for not liking it anymore. The coloring page will be available soon. #ocredraw
A drawing from 2020 of a person wearing a hood with floppy ears with floral interiors and heart shaped horns in super saturated colors. One eye is missing and a green X takes its place. The only eye has a heart shaped pupil. There are facial piercings and face stripes. Their skin is aqua. A drawing from 7/4/25 of a girl wearing a hood with floppy ears with floral interiors and heart shaped horns in desaturated colors. One eye is missing and a green X takes its place. The only eye has a heart shaped pupil. A chin stripe starts under the lip. She has bluish green skin.

All the portraits so far.
10 portraits of 9 women and 1 man. Each one is a stylized drawing of a face and shoulders. 7 are skin toned (shades of brown) and 3 are fantasy toned (purple, green, and blue). Each portrait is business card sized. But in artist trading card style.

Olive loaf for bread machine. I wanted a thick crunchy crust for dipping in olive oil, and this worked out perfectly. It’s a little too much liquid, so the center isn’t finished when it first comes out of the machine. That’s why it needs extra baking time, but it also creates a delightful crust.
Olive loaf recipe. Download and use an image reader to read. Otherwise save and share with a friend. Bisection of an olive loaf I made in my bread machine and finished baking in the oven in a cast iron pan. It was so crusty and good. This is my favorite loaf so far.

Business card sized portraits of 5 different women. Attempting line work on a drawing of a pink haired girl. Digital drawing of an alien girl with a bandaid on her face and a star drawn under her eye. Oil pastels using different hues for shadows than flesh toned. I need to add this to my to embroider list. I also need to take my current embroidery off of the rack and put it away because I’m never gonna finish it. And I’m never gonna start this comment project while it’s on there. Sigh.

Painted this last night. It’s tombow markers w acrylic. I copied someone else’s art, but they painted a ref photo, so I’m not worried about it. It’s also different enough that it’s more like I followed the same ref photo. Copying others is part of learning. Don’t be afraid to. Just don’t sell it.

Playing with my markers last night. Remember, the point of making art is playing, not perfection. Do the thing. Waste supplies. Make something. #art #wereallartists
A portrait of a pink haired girl wearing a lavender dress with puffy sleeves. She has curly hair and bitch bangs and blue violet eyes. I washed a bunch of my sketchbook with leftover watercolors. This one looked like a sky with rolling hills, so I leaned into it and added a field of yellow wild flowers, a bunch of trees and a couple flowering bushes. This area seems to be in a drier region up north. I’ve seen areas like this driving through Washington, Oregon and Northern California. I will probably update it down the line, but for now, I’m satisfied with this experiment.

I’m watching Hidden Marriage with Boss and Mr. Fang is driving me fucking crazy. Bing clearly likes Yang. But he won’t stop perusing her when it’s very obvious she’s not into him. Yang is persistent as well, but she welcomes his interest modestly. Mr. Fang serves 2nd hand cringe. #cdrama

Finished with the granny square sweater. Yay! I love the way it turned out. And the ribbed knit hem is perfect. If I take the time to style it, I’ll post a better picture. Otherwise this is what you get. Lol 🧶

Almost done. I didn’t have circular knitting needles, so I’m using Tunisian crochet needles to knit a ribbed hem on my sweater. The sizes are close enough that it’s working pretty well. 🧶

Working on my sweater. I’m thinking of making it a pull over instead of a cardigan, bc 5 blocks wide is too wide. I was going to adjust the size in the armpit instead of adding another row of blocks to the back because the arms need only extra 2-3” and the body needs 4-6”. Works out perfectly. 🧶
Adding the border to all the granny squares so that I can stitch them together. I’m holding up one of the squares with a darning needle and my snips.

If I make it a pullover, I will add a deep hood to it to make it a hoodie. And signs are pointing to I’m probably going to make it a hoodie.

2 sleeves done. Now to figure out the back and the 2 front panels. Hopefully, I don’t have to make more squares. I thought I needed 56, so I made 56, but when laying them out, realized I made either too many or not enough. 🤞 it’s the former. 🧶

One sleeve finished. I didn’t buy enough charcoal grey, so I decided to stitch the squares together with the lighter grey. I like it well enough. 🧶

I like this new style I’ve been trying with my acrylic markers. I’m using GuangNa Morandi and Macron, Flysea skin set, Uni Posca, and Sakura PenTouch. I have so many markers, but I want more colors. I want all the colors.
Painted these girls today (3/27/25) with acrylic markers. The background was made with watercolor. I made the washes a couple weeks ago. Painted this green haired girl last night (3/26/25) with acrylic markers. Background is a watercolor wash painted on a different day. Painted this girl on 3/13/25 with acrylic markers. I think this is where I found my style. I saw an illustration on a piece of fabric that was really cute and the green girl was me attempting to follow the style of that drawing. And the blue girl is me experimenting with that style. This was my first time using my brand new acrylic brush marker so there’s a lot of layering mistakes and grabbing the wrong color and weirdness that I was figuring out how to manage.

Very first loaf is started. I’m not counting the fruit loaf I made a few days ago. It wasn’t yeast bread. This is yeast bread 🍞. Recipe in alt.
A bread machine stirring a small dough ball. Making a 1 lb loaf.
Recipe used:

2 T olive oil
1/2 t salt
1 T honey
2 1/4 C (300 g) flour
1 t yeast

Set on 1 lb and light crust.

Putting these two next to each other is showing me what adjustments I want to make. But I’m still super excited about this digitization of this drawing I made last night. I like both versions of her, but I’m not done with the digitizing. This is the sleep on it and reflect phase. #art

I’m leaning towards the colors of the first one, but I’m honestly struggling trying to figure out which colors I want to paint this beetle. I brought my paint colors into procreate to make a decision and it made it harder. I thought it would make it easier. Nope. Besides the watercolor wash failed.

Apricot walnut bread (recipe in alt) Not the first loaf I wanted to make when I first used my bread maker, but it was pretty good. I’d add another egg to this recipe next time, because it’s a little crumbly. #breadmachinerecipe
Apricot walnut bread
2 eggs (I used one, but it needs 2)
1.5 C flour
2/3 C apple sauce
1 cup chopped dried apricots
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 t baking soda
1 t vanilla (which I’m now realizing I forgot)
Dash of salt
3/4 cup monks fruit without erythritol (or any sugar, I just needed to lower my sugar intake)
1/3 cup oil (I used coconut, but butter would be nice here)

The ingredients are not in order of adding to a bread machine. Please follow your machines cake ingredients instructions.

These are the ingredients I put in my bread machine on the cake setting, because this is an altered banana bread recipe (which is why it only had 1 egg, and I only realized after that it needed a second egg).

Everyone was an immediate fan. Though… it would have tasted better with the vanilla. And if you’re wondering about the apple sauce, it’s to replace the bananas in the original recipe. And apples provide good long lasting moisture in muffins and fruit bread. But, a little known fact, bananas act as a binder, and can replace eggs in some recipes, hence why I recommend 2 eggs for you.

I hope you enjoy this little recipe. If you want to make it in the oven, just follow the directions on any banana bread recipe.

This was drawn last night, but I can’t figure out a color scheme. So I haven’t started on it. I did draw it in procreate to help with choosing colors, but couldn’t decide. So maybe I’ll start painting it tomorrow.

Finally reached the pink section. 8” of this, then another blue stripe, then 4” of beige, and a 3/8” white edge. The towel should be 16” long when it’s finished. Also, can anyone tell me what this pattern is? It’s 2 size 10 picks in white and 1 size 6 pick in color. I couldn’t’ve invented it. 🧶

Working on a new embroidery pattern. I love when I put something down that I’m working on and come back to it and make it 100 times better. You should’ve seen the first draft. Luckily you don’t have to. 🧶
An animated gif of the phrase: “all these clowns need their fat heads bounced off a curb.” With really pretty flourishes all the way around it and a soft ballet pink color background. And the last frame is a red overlay with black writing that says, “punch Nazis.” It’s not animating for everyone, so my sight impaired community will actually know the content of this image before everyone else will. And I honestly think that makes it more punk rock.

It feels like I haven’t made much progress but this ruler situation is actually working. So much so that I ordered two 16” plastic rulers to replace these junkie ones that I have tied together to make longer than 12”. This is how I problem solve. 🧶
Two 12 inch rulers tied together in order to make a pick up bar for some frame weaving where I’m making a kitchen towel. My progress on my kitchen towel that I started in December. But I haven’t wanted to work on because it’s so difficult to get those short shuttles through the shed. Even after I added the head bars. The two 12 inch rulers that are tied together are kind of helping. But I’m definitely doing an inkle weave next because I need a project to finish within days not months.

I’m currently researching bread recipes and I think I’m going to use this one first when I get my bread machine this week. I will be using olive oil and honey. The honey is only there for fermenting the yeast, so it won’t matter much, but will give peace of mind. $1.61 per loaf. $1.20 w/ sugar.

Still learning how to make this flower. In order from right to left, my 2nd attempt, my 3rd attempt and my 1st attempt. I think I pulled harder on the knots on the 3rd one because of how bad the 2nd one turned out. And that made it smaller. Needless to say, my 1st and 3rd are my faves. 🧶
Micro macrame flowers made with polyester segment dyed thread. They will either be sewn onto things or used as bead caps. It depends. I really like this unwaxed polyester thread. It stays put when knotted and melts when you’re done so you don’t have to secure your work with anything but a lighter. The black dashes on the clipboard are an inch apart.
