Extremely disappointed & saddened to hear that #Viljandi Town Council & the Estonian War Museum plan to exhume the civilian #WWII refugee camp graves in Järveotsa in the cheapest & quickest possible way without scientific archaeological excavations. Based on my research, at least 1,065 people 1/5

On Monday I gave an invited talk about child health and death in Tallinn during the early modern period @jlugiessen.bsky.social at the colloquium organized by the early modern history department. On my way there I passed an old cemetery and of course this was the first grave that caught my eye.
