While today is ANZAC Day, I also remember the British, Irish, French, Indian & Newfoundland troops who fought at Suvla Bay, including my grandfather and his brother. Their sister was a nurse on a hospital ship, anchored offshore. Lest we forget.

Timeline cleanse - my cats. Ginger & white is Liam, 12 yrs old - foster fail. He was really sick with cat flu & heartworm when I rescued him, his brother & mother. The tabby is Miss Nymphadora Tomkins, 4 yrs old. A farm barn cat who was rescued when the farmer was threatening to shoot the cats.

There are 3 things I'd like you take way from this post. 1) Behind each statistic there is heartbreak which never heals. 2)People with a psychotic illness are still people like people with cancer are still people. 3) Don't expect everybody to feel joyful at this time of year or any other time

For the next 16 years he tried so hard to be the person he really was. Comments from his friends; "My bestie, everyone's bestie", "I swear there are not too many souls on this planet that could touch another the way you did." "The bloke you could count on when you were down and out."

He was a massage therapist, a nature-lover, a compassionate being. He meditated daily. But his psychotic delusion was that a gang were after him and if they didn't kill him, they would kill his dad, brother and me. So he self-immolated to save us.

8 years ago today my son died by suicide 48 hrs after being discharged from psych ward. In Oct 2016 he was admitted to a psych ward, discharged after 2 wks. Admitted to a different psych ward 2 wks later. Discharged after 3 wks.
