There are always "stars" I don't know, but it's still enjoyable to watch the dances. I find the judging inconsistent and also the judges can be condescending and annoying.

I didn't watch last season and whenever I do decide to watch a season, I'm reminded of why I don't watch it too often.

I'm not the first person to say this and I don't really have a horse in this race, but DWTS should be transparent about how audience votes are combined with judge's scores and the final rankings each week, to show how someone with a large fan base who doesn't have the lowest scores gets out.

FORGOTTEN ISLAND is so good. Hilarious and emotional. Disney, watch out. DreamWorks is back.

I watched one episode and forgot to continue, but I keep wondering if I should try again.

110

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

I would go so far as to say it is not a good show and it is also not enjoyable to watch (even if the performances are good).

It would have been such a waste if COYOTE VS. ACME was never released. Everyone go see it this weekend so it does really well. Wile E. Coyote deserves it.

Alan Menken performed from basically everything he ever worked on and I mean everything.

Thanks to whoever decided the order of the Disney Legends for putting Bob Iger last so we could leave early and make it back to the convention center for the Alan Menken concert.

If you have Disney+, I highly recommend watching the Lin-Manuel Miranda portion of the Disney Legends ceremony. It's the first one. An emotional performance and speech.

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

One of the first ones seated to see Anne Hathaway, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Susan Egan, and more become Disney Legends because I have anxiety about getting places on time, especially when shuttles are involved.

The stage for the Disney Legends ceremony at the Honda Center.

Not sure if this is common knowledge, but at the ENCHANTED panel at D23, Amy Adams said she auditioned for ENCHANTED and THE WEDDING SINGER on Broadway at the same time. It's a good thing she didn't get THE WEDDING SINGER.

At a movie theater at 9 pm to see Spider-Man and it is packed. I can't remember the last time I saw a movie theater so crowded. On the one hand, I like seeing movies in empty theaters, but I do miss seeing movies with lots of people reacting.

010

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 30/06/2026

I follow mostly theater people, and I'm surprised I don't see more theater people posting about the World Cup. You can't beat the drama.

000

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

My favorite part of World Cup games is the national anthems because it's fun to see which players know the words and which ones are faking.

There was a merch table at the Hollywood Bowl that only had Darren Criss merch and it was so sad. I don't think anyone was stopping there.

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 21/06/2026

Lea Salonga did an ABBA medley and sang "Defying Gravity" and now I want to see her play Donna in MAMMA MIA! and Elphaba (I don't care how old she is). She can play any role.

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 21/06/2026

At the Hollywood Bowl for Best of Broadway. The lineup includes Lea Salonga, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry (and Darren Criss, but we don't have to focus too much on that part).

Program for Best of Broadway, opening night at the Hollywood Bowl.

I still think they should have stopped making TOY STORY movies after the third one, but I also think it may be impossible to make a bad TOY STORY movie.

Happy Paul McCartney's birthday to you and yours. 84 years old and still giving us new music.

I had a similar experience. It seems like something I would love, but didn't. People around me were crying and it just didn't move me.

I wonder if Messi's back hurts from carrying this team on his back. They are never going to let him retire, will they?

I think a lot of schools here are on summer break.

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

Just thinking about when I saw Joshua Henry go on for Christopher Jackson in IN THE HEIGHTS. When you see an understudy in a Broadway show, you could be seeing a future Tony winner.

020

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

I have to admit she was a great host. How soon until she joins the cast of CHICAGO?

030

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

Again, I had a great time at SCHMIGADOON!, but I can't be that excited about this win, and it wouldn't have won in a stronger season for new musicals. #TonyAwards

030

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

The only sure thing tonight was Joshua Henry winning, but there is no such thing as a sure thing. Now that it happened, I can relax. Again, a lot of great performances in this category, but Joshua Henry is long overdue for a Tony. #TonyAwards

I love all these women, but I'm so happy Caissie Levy is now a Tony winner!!! #TonyAwards

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

I enjoyed all the musical revivals this season, even CHESS (I said it). I really loved RAGTIME and I'm not mad it won, but it should have been a tie with CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL, which, as I said earlier, does what revivals should do. #TonyAwards

In a fairly predictable evening, it is fun to see a surprise like Ali Louis Bourzgui winning. #TonyAwards

I still think about Shoshana Bean's Jenna in WAITRESS. I was lucky enough to see her Elphaba too. #TonyAwards

I'm not sure that performance conveyed how fun TITANIQUE is. Also, when will they get the sound right at the #TonyAwards? Certainly not this year.

042

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

And now I'm thinking about how great Joe Mantello's ASSASSINS was. (DEATH OF A SALESMAN was great too.) #TonyAwards

Linda Buchwald @lindab.bsky.social · 08/06/2026

CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL did what revivals should do, it did something completely new with the musical while still being true to the material. #TonyAwards

I am one of those people wondering why P!NK is hosting the Tonys. Not to be a stick in the mud, but I do think the host should have done some theater. #TonyAwards

Omari Wiles and Arturo Lyons deservedly win best choreography for CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL in what I think is one of the most competitive categories of the night. #TheTonyAwards
