Oh also A/B video splitting is fucking stupid. I don't want to send a video to a friend only for them to get a completely different video to what I originally saw. ...I think I just hate the new YouTube CEO and all of his ideas.

Am I being nit-picky? Yes, I am. But that's me for you. Will it get better? Probably not. Do I want a toggle that removes automated chapters? Yes. Please.

Also if you're wondering how it's actively harmful, it's because it's far too loose with what it's doing. Sometimes the chapters are far too spaced away from one another. Not only that, but sometimes the chapter names don't correlate to the video or what's said in the video.

An example of chapters being far too spaced apart in a TearOfGrace Isaac video. The timestamps visible are "All Heart" at 0:45, "Godin Bones" at 2:55, and "Darkman" at 6:01. The video's run time is 13:02, so for more than half of the runtime, you are on the last chapter of the video.

At the timestamp 0:45, ToG says "Eternal heart." The automated chapter uses "All Heart" as the chapter name. At that timestamp, only two heart pickups are visible and ToG was talking about his lack of bombs, so calling it "All Heart" is not entirely accurate.

At the timestamp 2:55, ToG plays a sample of the heavy metal song "512". Afterwards, he picks up an item and says that he is "Oh my lord and savior of God and Bones." It seems like the automated captions misheard it as "Godin Bones", which to my knowledge, doesn't exist.

At 6:01 ToG plays another metal song sample with effects over Spoon Bender.
Afterwards it cuts to footage of gameplay, with ToG entering a room with a red heart and saying "Well'un (I can't make out what exactly he's saying, but it's either this or well then) Dark Bum." Considering that this is the only thing that is tangentially related to the chapters name in the six minutes it takes up, it's safe to say this is accurate.

Above the timestamps, and the only two not shown are "Intro" (at 0:00) and "Goat Head" (at 0:21), both of which are accurate.

The video in question is "The Binding of Isaac REBIRTH: MOM'S KNIFE + SPOON BENDER = OP" Considering that NONE of the timestamps mention these items by name, but rather appear in the chapters "Godin Bones" and "Darkman", I doubt that these chapters are to be extremely helpful for other videos.

And the chapters usually have similar wording. The first one is usually "Initial ___" with the last one being "Final ___"

Vent post, I dont like automated chapters on YT. Don't get me wrong, the chapter system in YouTube is genuinely good, but sometimes you quite literally DO NOT NEED AUTO GENERATED CHAPTERS for certain videos. Clip montages are one of those examples. This video also did not have Auto Chapters before.

My apologies of misunderstanding that. Coding is not my thing and I thought it was a simple port. Still, the usage of GenAI, coding or otherwise, for an art program is extremely worrying for people who have used your software for art. You're actively building distrust with AI.

I'm still glad that I made the art that I did, but with how the creator is going about things, I don't think using this program is a good idea anymore. Not for me, not for other artists who have been using it.

Yes, my art has been made within Paintdotnet for the past five years. While I am grateful for the software that allowed me to make my art for years, for free, I don't feel comfortable in using it any longer. I'll be hoping over to something else entirely.
