I called the ambulances demanding payment, as marking USA as the most "uncivilized" of nations. Thinking it over there is a fine line. We cannot allow people to use ambulances as free taxis for a hospital trip. But ambulances take folks away from accident scenes. Asking for payment is uncivilized.

Big difference between Politicians, (Ideal) Scientists = To a politician, admitting a mistake is like ingesting excrement. To a scientist, admitting a mistake is honest behavior, and is a step in overcoming human ego. Politician intensifies and lives for ego, scientist is supposed to minimize it.

The "CO2 is special" comes from Sci-Fi, entirely. Hansen knew the Sci-Fi theory, but no thermodynamics. He MADE UP a lot of nonsense physics, to match the Sci-Fi. None of that is real physics. All radiation from Earth is from molecules. CO2 does not absorb some mystical "blackbody heat" from Earth.
