It's my birthday today! (August 24) 28 years ago my mom subjected the world to my silliness. Humanity has not recovered.

I know I said I'd only post about this once but the situation has become dire. I've become desperate. My rent is 2000/month and I probably won't be able to afford it come August. Jobs are ignoring me and I can't just move out. I need this help, desperately. ko-fi.com/lilymcfluffy...

"You call this cozy?! It's 105 degrees out here!" "But there's no humidity, my friend." More progress on the topside dorms map. I wanted to show more but Bluesky still has a 4 image limit per post. #gmod #garrysmod #retro #hl1 #halflife #goldsrc #source

Please don't punish regular users for what the administration is doing. The administration won't care if you scrub your mods, but regular users will be screwed out of them.

I haven't posted since that last bombshell so here's an update. I'm fine, mostly. I've been working on my gmod map and been chilling. April 1st marked 10 years of me making hl1 gmod maps.

My dad passed away today. 8:30 AM EST, according to my sister. I've watched him decline for over a year, so it's not entirely unexpected. It isn't any easier though. Here's a thing he did for one of my maps back in 2022. It's lyrics from Drift Away, since my dad used to be a rock and roll drummer.

Dirty white wall with Left 4 Dead-styled graffiti that says, "I wanna get lost in your rock-n-roll and drift away."

Uh oh it's gotten even cozier. More progress on the topside dormitories. And yes, monitors really did come with speakers like that sometimes in the 90's. #gmod #garrysmod #retro #hl1 #halflife #goldsrc #source

It's weird how only Minecraft gets this excuse too. Game updates on Steam are free too but these same people would be rightfully upset if one of their favorite Steam games had a terrible update.

I'm finding it really hard to be excited because OBM has reset several times. I have no faith that what's being shown here will still be there some months or a year from now.

All that said, Portal 2's gameplay is still fun as hell.

020

Lily McFluffy Butt @lilymcfluffybutt.bsky.social · 11/02/2026

Portal 2 throws that all out the window before GLaDOS even wakes up. Suddenly BTS areas are completely exaggerated and seemingly serve no purpose than to scare people afraid of heights, the chambers after her wakeup are spotless, and now she's basically a god to this place.

110

Lily McFluffy Butt @lilymcfluffybutt.bsky.social · 11/02/2026

Portal 1 felt more grounded in reality. Chambers being mostly clean but having dirty spots, the BTS areas feeling like they have actual use, and GLaDOS not having total god-like control over the facility. You got the feeling the place was designed for humans to work in.

Lily McFluffy Butt @lilymcfluffybutt.bsky.social · 31/01/2026

$100+ for a keyboard that has no numpad nor arrow keys. The design is cool but paying more to functionally downgrade would be silly.

Wait why? afaik the term was made by someone who loves old shooters

100

Lily McFluffy Butt @lilymcfluffybutt.bsky.social · 25/01/2026

Kinda goes to show how much we still don't know about the alpha. Unlike Half-Life 2, there wasn't some mega leak, just some press and beta test CDs. I wish Valve would show off more, if they even still have all that stuff.

The coolest thing about the Source Engine is you think, "oh, I'm gonna do this really simple thing" and next thing you know, it's 3 AM, you have multiple Source Discords and Valve Dev Wiki pages open, and you're on the verge of a crashout all because you wanted to make a functional keypad.

Aliens, airstrikes, and a failed coverup? Is the world going totally mad?! Well yes it is, but that's because I'm working on the post-disaster version of GM_HL1_Lily_Surface. It takes place during the Worlds Collide chapter of Opposing Force. #gmod #garrysmod #retro #hl1 #halflife #goldsrc #source
