Day 259 of Japanese study! Another very busy day at work today had me stacked with reviews at the end of the day. At least with how many deliveries I took, I got to listen to some JP streams to immerse. Here's a word I learned today that perfectly describes how I've been lol.

Day 740 of swim! Two full weeks in a row without missing a workout! Next week might very well be my last full week in Ohio too. Crazy to think about. I will have to find a new pool to continue my swimming at!

Day 258 of Japanese study! Grammar particles can be kind of difficult because some of them have multiple uses for various reasons. I know sometimes when to use this one, but sometimes I see it used and I go "wait, it can be used there too?". It can get confusing lol.

Day 739 of swim! Not too much to say about today’s workout. It was pretty sunny and a hot 80°F (26°C) out today despite it being October now. Kinda hoping it’ll cool down soon!

Day 257 of Japanese study! Today is also my 250th day using WaniKani, which is crazy to think about. I'm getting close to 800 Kanji learned, and am at over 2600 vocab words using just this program! I love seeing the wall of red on the heat map that shows just how committed I am!

Day 738 of swim! I’m like hey what’s up hello or something lol. Pretty normal workout today, the gym renovations continue and part of has reopened but it’s still not that crowded these days. Also I found a note on the floor that said “You are hard-working” and I liked that c:

Day 256 of Japanese study! I think I should find some YouTube videos to help with grammar, because once we start getting into double negatives and things that are more nuanced, my brain has trouble keeping up. I've always struggled with textbook style learning, so it might help.

Day 737 of swim! Counting down the days left at this pool. Almost didn’t go today because the nerve in my leg was flaring up today. Not the best sign, but it felt fine during my workout at least. Can’t believe it’s been almost two months since I injured it.

Day 255 of Japanese study! With all the moving stuff I'm having to take care of right now, I'm finding it difficult to find the time to get my studying in. I'm still getting it done though! Doing my best! 諦めない！

BIG NEWS! I'm finally moving! 🥳 Finally getting out of Ohio and headed to the New England area! Just signed a lease for a new place and put in my 30-day vacancy notice for my current apartment as well as my two weeks at work today! Gonna be moving in a couple weeks! YIPPEEEEE!

Day 736 of swim! Got started about ten minutes early today. Normally I go so that I end right around closing time, but since I had a few extra minutes I was able to get some alone time in the hot tub afterwards. Definitely needed some relaxation. Felt nice.

Day 254 of Japanese study! Going through my daily lessons today and did a double take when reading the meaning explanation of this one. My brain is so cooked I swear LOL. The best part is this curriculum was made in the 2010s so this is old. They had no idea back then...

Day 253 of Japanese study! I've reached a point where I'm learning new kanji for concepts I've already learned kanji for. Example, this is probably the third kanji I've learned for birth, but this left one specifically is the one used in "happy birthday - お誕生日おめでとう！"

Day 252 of Japanese study! Today I passed 40,000 total reviews on my account in WaniKani! That's over the span of the 245 days of using this program! I love when I reach milestones like this, it's one of those moments where you look back after it all and see how far you've come.

Day 251 of Japanese study! Mostly was just able to get my reviews and lessons done for the day, been very busy with other life stuff. Reviewed this lesson today and I thought, wait, I've used this before, but this lesson better contextualizes how it's supposed to be used.

Day 735 of swim! A full week done! This is my first full week completed since my nerve injury almost two months ago. Big progress and I’m happy I’m able to get back to it! Felt very strong today!

Day 734 of swim! Nice day today, both at the pool and outside. Honestly felt really strong today, and while I can still feel the nerve in my leg if I apply pressure, it’s basically fine at this point when it comes to my workouts. So that’s good news!

Day 250 of Japanese study!! 250 days, that's quite the amount of time! I'm still learning new words and kanji every day, and here's a word that I learned today that seemed fitting. It's taken a lot of discipline to get this far, but I still have so much to learn!

Day 733 of swim! It seems the hot water was fixed today which was pretty nice. Not that it was too bad to swim in the past couple days, but it made my shower beforehand unpleasant lol. Glad to have it working again. Pretty alright workout today too.

Day 249 of Japanese study! Sometimes WaniKani teaches me words that are a bit niche, but utilize the Kanji that I've learned so far. Surprisingly though, this one is actually pretty relevant to me since I swim all the time. I love when my interests cross over.

Day 248 of Japanese study! It seems they're teaching me another word for "tail". Kinda strange, since before it used the "tail" kanji, but now this word uses the "tail" and "butt" kanji. I mean idk when to use which but sure why not, more tail words!

Day 732 of swim! Looks like my leg is good enough to get back to the regular routine now. The pool’s heating still hasn’t been fixed, so I was the only one swimming for the entire duration of my workout, but honestly I didn’t think it was that cold. We’ll see how it is tomorrow!

Day 731 of swim. Apparently the gym’s hot water is broken right now, so it made taking a shower a pain, and the pool isn’t getting any new hot water right now but thankfully it’s maintaining it’s temperature so I was able to swim alright! Hopefully it’s fixed soon!

Day 247 of Japanese study! I see they're only teaching me the most important kanji at this point. Clearly this one is good to know for....reasons. I swear, WaniKani gets kinda freaky sometimes I'm not gonna lie 😳

Day 246 of Japanese study! When learning grammar, I've come across one of the harder aspects of Japanese, casual vs polite speech. Example, だろう is used for casual speech, but でしょう is the polite form. And だろ is even more casual. It gets confusing which to use lol.

020

LilyBlue 💜 VTuber @lilyblue53.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

Day 245 of Japanese study! I wish I could just dedicate all my time to really studying these grammar points. A lot of times I have to find time in my gaps at work to learn and review, and while that’s fine for kanji and vocab, it’s hard to learn new grammar while distracted.

Day 244 of Japanese study! Found myself looking up a lot of song lyrics today from songs I've been listening to for years. It's really cool listening to old songs I couldn't understand and be able to pick up now at least some of what the lyrics mean. Grammar lesson unrelated lol

Day 242 of Japanese study. Here's a fun fact, I actually just learned this word the other day through watching a Japanese cooking channel. Thank you immersion for helping me learn new words by just watching YouTube.
