Another element is that people have claimed the harassment is overstated, but it was clearly enough to drive yunayu off the site — I think the takeaway here is maybe we shouldn’t default to yelling at random people over the internet en masse just bc they’re doing something that makes us feel a way

the thing is, the only FA censorship controversy i can recall was when a former site moderator decided to ban babyfurs. that person was removed and replaced with a babyfur. i haven't seen any drama related to FA censorship since, so i don't know what to tell you.
