And that's how Winterfest ended for the family! 🎄

Gunther turned to Rin and gave her a little kiss on the cheek. She smiled, even though she still felt a slight ache in her chest. But everything was settled now, and the trip was happening, so she would try to understand Gunther and put aside the hurt she was still feeling.

Gunther pulled Rin closer and gave his mother a more confident smile. G: Of course! We were just discussing a few little details about the trip. I hope you have enough warm clothes, mom. M: Darling, I’m planning to go shopping tomorrow! I’m so excited!

A few seconds later, they heard someone knocking on the door. Mila asked if she could come in, and after the couple gave her permission, that's what she did. M: Is everything alright, my dears?

G: Forgive me, okay? If this trip is important to you, then we're going. R: Are you sure? Can we really? G: Of course. Just promise me you won't let me make a fool of myself. If I do something wrong, correct me right away. R: Oh, Gunther... all that matters to me is that we'll be there together.

G: I know, my love... I just... felt insecure. And I ended up turning it into an argument about money because it was easier to pretend I was worried about the expenses than to admit I was feeling vulnerable.

G: I'm scared you'll see me in the wonderful place where you grew up and realize you married an idiot who doesn't deserve you. R: That's nonsense, Gunther. I would never think that!

R: Not that much, since Naomi's parents offered to provide us with accommodation and meals at their inn. My dad is really excited to see Klaus again and to meet Yuna. G: Wouldn't it be easier to just pay for your dad's ticket to come here, like we usually do?

Rin followed Gunther to his old bedroom in the house. Once they were finally alone, she turned to her husband. R: So, Gunther? What did you want to talk to me about? G: Rin, a trip like this must have cost a lot of money.

One person hadn't made a single comment or shown much excitement about the news of an all-expenses-paid trip to Mt. Komorebi: Gunther. When Rin finally finished speaking, he forced a smile. G: Honey, can we talk in private for a minute?

N: Of course, don't worry! My parents love making people fall in love with Komorebi. I went to ask them for a discount, and they offered to host you all for free. R: And I'll cover the rest of the expenses. It'll be a pleasure to take my family to Komorebi and show you all around!

L: Wow, Mt. Komorebi?! Are you serious, sis? W: Ohhh, so that's why you kept insisting we get our passports, huh? M: Dear, that's wonderful! But are you sure we can really rely on your family like this, Naomi?

R: Okay, okay, I'll tell you! All of us here are going on a very special trip at the end of the year... we're going to Mt. Komorebi!! N: And you'll all be staying at my family's inn! I already talked to my parents, and they've reserved the rooms and will also take care of everyone's meals.

After exchanging gifts, Rin and Naomi announced that they had something to tell the family. W: What is it, sis? Don't tell me we've just become characters in your new book or something. L: Come on, sis! We're curious! M: Hush, boys!! Let her speak.

When it was time to open presents, all eyes were on the little ones. Most gifts were for them, after all. Klaus was thrilled with every new present, while Yuna watched her brother curiously, still too young to understand what was happening.

Everything really was perfect. The family certainly had a wonderful time together. Rin and Gunther even danced a little when a romantic song played during the Christmas movie they were watching. Meanwhile, Klaus made the most of the celebration by eating everything he could!

The area that used to be reserved just for the boys to watch movies, play video games, or for Wolfgang to practice his music was now fully decorated for Winterfest, with a large table filled with delicious dishes for everyone to enjoy.

Although they had decorated their house for the festive occasion, the family celebration would take place at the Munchs' house. Mila said she would take care of dinner and even told Rin to invite her friend Naomi, knowing how much the two would want to spend that day together.

They finally finished decorating the tree and turned on the lights. G: It looks great, doesn't it? K: Yesss! I love our tree! R: Too bad our little helper fell asleep before she could see it all finished, haha!

Little by little, the tree became more beautiful. Winterfest was never a grand celebration where Rin grew up. People just ate with friends or went on romantic dates to see the city lights. It lacked the family traditions of Windenburg, which Rin found so beautiful.

Gunther and Klaus were already busy decorating the family's Winterfest tree. It was turning out really beautiful! When Rin finished feeding Yuna, she brought the baby over so they could help the boys with the task as well.

As it was getting colder and colder, Rin bundled her little daughter up warmly after changing her diaper once again. When she came downstairs, it was time to give Yuna some slightly warm tasty milk.

Snow was falling outside, and all the houses in the neighborhood were already beautifully decorated for Winterfest. And, of course, Gunther and Rin's house wouldn't be left out.

I'm home, I'm fed, I'm ready to start this! Let's go!

After they finished eating, Gunther went to bed first, saying he was very tired. Rin washed the dishes and put everything away, and only then did she finally go to bed beside her husband to rest.

The food was ready. Rin and Gunther took a warm shower and put on their pajamas, then went to eat while watching one of Rin's favorite shows. Gunther didn't seem very interested, but he had said she could choose, so he didn't complain, he just let out a few yawns here and there.

While Rin cooked, Gunther took Yuna and Klaus to their room, finished getting them ready to sleep, and tucked them into their beds. Before long, the little ones were peacefully drifting off to dreamland.

G: It's pretty cold today. How about you make that tomato soup and some grilled cheese sandwiches like my mom taught you, and we can eat while watching something? You get to pick tonight! I'll take care of the kids. R: Okay, sounds good, dear. And off Rin went to cook the meal Gunther asked for.

R: Oh, I understand... but don't feel that way. If you want, I can take one of your manuscripts to the publishing house. Who knows, maybe Skyler will offer you a job there too. G: That would actually be great, Rin. I'm not going to say no to an offer like that!
