what's so galling about this line (metaphor wise): 1. you can turn a ship like the Titanic around overnight. 2. part of the reason the Titanic crashed was it ignored numerous warnings. 3. the captain assumed it would be visible sooner than it was 4. they were moving too fast to avoid it.
