K.E. 6 "Lazies"! "Lazies" are just what sane artists call "alts" I understand how people might roll their eyes at 40 versions of the same image (I used to feel the same!) but they're fun, quick, easy to make, and have a lot of production. Low-energy projects with high output thus "lazy".

Thematically, lazies have a lot of the same DNA as overlay fetishes, but can get a lot more involved than just slapping something new on. Color changes, whole redraws, etc. I often enjoy making deep "paperdoll" style bases. Putting in just a bit of prep by carefully layering my canvases helps a ton.

My favorite is when characters "react" to changes in a lazy set, which implies some level of diegetic action. Lazies can tell a story, change the tone, escalate the action. Even when redrawing from scratch, lazies provide a solid base for successive alterations. Sky's the limit! Until tomorrow!

There's infinite ways to handle lazies. Palette swaps, tanlines, new or changed features, altered anatomy, new expressions, cute outfits, you name it. If you've never tried spinning lazy alts off your own art, I recommend it! Lots of fun. Figuring out what base to start with is the hardest part.
