Like I always knew and vouched that the food in Lancaster county is a step above, but hot damn. Lancaster City is fucking me up. Fish and chips at Lancaster Dispensing Company. Less than $11 before tax. Big portion, amazing texture, amazing flavour, nice and moist. The fries fucked too.

If you ever find yourself in Lancaster City, PA, you need to go to either Issei (a japanese ramen house and izakaya) or Mekatos Eatery (columbian/laotian spot in Southern Market). Ideally both. I'm in food heaven this weekend.

A big bowl of Japanese beef curry with carrots, potatoes, and scallions. So good I almost cried.

A plate of chicken karaage with a lemon wedge and a small dipping bowl of Japanese mayo sprinkled with shichimi togarashi.

A plate of beautiful takoyaki with crispy exteriors and fluffy interiors, topped with katsuobushi, takoyaki sauce, and Japanese mayo. There's a big pile of benishoga on one side. There are four takoyaki and it's obvious two were already eaten before Luna remembered to take a photo.

Desiree's Plate from Mekatos Eatery. Broken rice with scallion, shredded beef brisket, and a stir fry of mixed red, orange, and yellow bell peppers, scallion, and onion. It's covered in Lao peanut sauce and sprinkled lightly with a handmade hot sauce. It got Luna to actually eat bell peppers.
