She made it! My Mum is 100 years old today. My family from Australia are here and all the others are arriving on Saturday for a party. We are so thankful to still have her with us!

Today is *finally* the day my family arrive from Australia for Mum's 100th b'day! We have navigated changes in visa law, cancelling the whole trip, because of the illegal war, the re-booking of everything and a broken shoulder. I still won't quite believe they are here until I have them in my arms!

Results of my darling Jnr4's sleep study are in and, as expected, he has a serious neurological condition, for which there is no cure. Symptoms can be treated however, so we are hopeful. NHS 78 years old yesterday, & I remain ever thankful for all that means in our hour of need.

This day & time 25 years ago I was travelling to another County to be reunited with my premature twins who had been taken by ambulance to another hospital as there were no free neonate beds where I gave birth. They are both fine young men now and I'm forever grateful for all the care we received.

MrLnS gave me some very posh circular knitting needles for Christmas. Seemed only fair that the first item off them was a jumper for him. Here we are #SundayPixBefore&After #Knitting first attempt at #Colourwork

A long time ago, I learned how to gild. So here is some gold leaf, for #SundayPixLeaf It's supposed to be a Phoenix - in case you were wondering!

The tools of a gilder. A brush standing in a beaker of water, a gilder's mat, surrounded on three edges with a paper shield (to stop the gold leaf getting caught by the breeze.) On the mat is some gold leaf sliced into small squares by the long knife to the far right. In the foreground is a plaque covered in dark red bole ready to be gilded and two gilder's brushes. The short flat one is for picking up the gold leaf and the long one for brushing off loose pieces.

I'm in a rage of disappointment and frustration. My family, who were coming from Australia to celebrate my Mum's 100th birthday are now not able to join us due to ... well, You Know Who and the illegal war. The 'unpicking' of everything I'd planned, booked and paid for is a gigantic headache.
