Maybe, just maybe, there's a logical phenomenon like modulation of a concept or thing. Much like FM-synthesis - modulation of a waveform of sound - in synthesizers, you could modulate the meaning of a concept with other concepts.

Find a way, find some words; just because you've found one way, and can glorify it with more words that set it apart doesn't mean it's the end-all-be-all of so-called knowledge. For anything worthwhile, more avenues of approach are available- multiple theories, paradigms, lived realities, whatnot.

Are there natural stages to mediation, or do they simply occur according to personal affinity, or happenstance? I think we shouldn't play the game where we call certain stages higher than others. This only leads to unnecessary striving and fighting life as it unfolds.

Really weird, but I asked ChatGPT what the highest state of meditation was, and it came up with four types of it, from different traditions. What struck me the most was that a similarity between them was that this state should be effortless.

As you can immunize any ideological or intellectual position against criticism, the main drivers for the development of those positions are attachment and ambition. The intellectual stuff is mostly trivial once you don't feel you need guidance anymore.

As loving kindness meditation becomes stale and somewhat like a hollow ritual, I feel like I should move on. So, I ordered Shunryu Suzuki's 'Becoming Yourself' book. I hope it'll renew my practice, like his 'Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind' jumostarted my journey on this path.

You can compare immunizing a point of view against critique to it keepy-uppy or ball juggling in football. It's not really team playing, but there's a ball and feet involved.

'I found the simple life, is quite simple' From the famous song 'Running with Jehovah' by Van Halen. 😅😂🤣😂😅 Maybe, I'll turn it into a whole Weird Al kinda skit.

What's this obsession of people with order? Why do they want it over almost anything? Anxiety is worse than discontent? It's OK to be subjected? Due to the social anxiety that comes with being creative and thereby, more or less, an outcast, people are OK with being subjected? Or even, marginalized?

You can, kind of, step outside to gain the bird's eye view, but you have to get in again with that perspective in the back of the mind.

After every time I think I've figured out meditation, there comes a time where I think my freshly begotten concept of it is wrong. The same goes for clear methods or instructions for mediation. So like anything worth a damn, it's incomprehensible.... I guess. Good to know 😂

There has to be some room to play within adjusted behavior to allow for a hint of being your own unique self. People who don't exploit this wiggle room fail in mediocrity. I'd rather fail expressively than fail in mediocrity.

Writing with AI is basically declaring yourself dead over some dumb idea of perfection that's always been used to put everybody down. With the coming of LLMs it can be weaponized by the tech bros to dumb everybody down until they can gain control.

Is it a fool's errand to try to resolve the tensions between the relative and the absolute? The relative is limited thoughts, contractions, configurations of words, symbols, and meanings attached to them. And what they can cause. The absolute is the, often hard to speak of, sense it's all one.

Picture two characters, FunkenWyrd and Beatgenstein. The former is a weirdo that likes to feel good about usually the same stuff. The latter is curious and intellectual and therefore likes novelty and complexity. They both seem to like Jazz and Progressive Funk. youtu.be/sexP-WRhJkc

youtu.be/M8mm0X0BQuY I wrote this tune when I was tired beyond redemption. While I was happy with the backing teach, I had to rerecord the solo yesterday, as it was really lame. So, the backing track is rather mellow and funky, with some far out and exciting Jazz over it. Enjoy!

Each argued point is also a missed opportunity, because analysis is in infinite regression; continuously searching for deeper causes, grounds, axioms, etc. At least, this is one of the reasons I dreamt up as to why I'm not an intellectual, and why rationality isn't the totality of truth.

If you think about a concept like God as an overinterpretation of fate, predicating some kind of humanity to it etc, Nietzsche's amor fati becomes religious love. That is, when you take away the obvious projections.

I always have the feeling I'm falling for conformism when I work out a creative idea and it turns out to be common. Bouncing ideas off an LLM won't help this. It'll do the same thing, without it even being personally authentic; it'll be traditionally authentic, but that's superfluous.

Remarks about conscious belly breathing: -when I expand below the navel while inhaling I become relaxed, but clear and energetic. -If expand above the navel, and especially when the exhale is made a little slower, you get the lovey-dovey, deeply relaxing, and healing feeling.

To enjoy yourself, you shouldn't take a lot of stuff seriously. Funnily, you shouldn't take that too seriously, either.

Getting drawn into jahna's or love while meditating is all very fine, and it probably lowers your stress baseline. But don't beat yourself up when you're busy, or neurotic, and can't access the goody goodness that makes you feel so good. It's all change, cycles, it comes and it goes.

If you don't mind inconsistencies, you can still understand consistent thought. If you mind inconsistencies, you have a problem with the intelligibilty of these logical forms, for in as far as they exist. So, which position is better?

I don't know. I read a lot of zen people lately that are talking about how practice should be acceptance, living the full life, doing nothing special. But my nervous system seems to do well with using meditation - I know that's not the whole of practice - as an exercise in relaxation.

I've learned how to compose on the basis of stuff I hear in my head, but hardly anybody likes it. I can also solo based on melodies that spring to my inner ear, but I dunno... Is it natural to keep looking for a style that works, or is that forcing it too much? Copy players I like more? I dunno...

It's funny how the stuff that is most meaningful becomes abundant - thought in manifold ways - when taken seriously. Meanwhile, people with rich thoughts aren't taken seriously, because you need to bring a clear, not too far-fetched, easy to understand perspective.

I discovered the love you can feel while meditating early on in my spiritual process, about 12 years ago. However, it took reading Ton Lathouwers' last work 'Je kunt er niet uit vallen' for it to finally settle and get really drawn into it. The path is long and winding.

Since I've been been drawn more into the love dimension or aspect of meditation, I've become more unfuckwithable, triggers cause less insomnia. It's like loving kindness meditation is the real deal for becoming more 'enlightened'. Have more people noticed this?

Thinking has a few attractors: truth, goodness, and beauty. Ideally they coincide: the true, descriptive genres are intertwined with the prescriptive - this way we can know the good life. At the same time, the aspect of beauty, cognitively speaking: logical elegance, keeps overcomplication at bay.

Seeing culture as an eclecticism machine also means culture is instant hoopla, at least as far as it's relevant; relevant culture is creative, true creativity is taking chances, opening yourself up to debate. Conflicts and risk taking give energy, but also bring discomfort: hoopla.

Everytime I turn on the 'discovery' feed, here, I get annoyed by political babble. Otoh, I don't follow enough spiritual, philosophical, cultural, or artsy people to keep it interesting on the 'for you' feed. Can you please recommend interesting people in those fields to follow? Thnx in advance!

Since generative AI came on the scene I've been expecting a counter reaction of people advocating for the return of raw expression. I don't see that, sadly. In music there's the resurgence of punk and free jazz, but I'm not quite sure those currents are persistent, let alone mainstreaming.

You can model human behavior somewhat decently by assuming that if enough people bother with something for long enough, this subject will become so hellishly complicated that there is no way get perfect, subject-encompassing, expertise.

Is culture an eclecticism machine - do we all draw from different sources to be successful and relevant - or, is it a question ff idiosyncratic, creative intuition to boldly go where no one has gone before?

Luke 17:21 king James Bible is one of the most emancipating verses in the Bible, and other versions translate it wrong or misleadingly. Even linguistic research shows this translation is correct, but it's mostly a case of 'if you know, you know' '... Behold, the kingdom of God is within you'

I don't 'must,' and even that mustn't. Lol. The joys of meditation. (this is a really bad translation of 'Ik moet niks, en zelfs dat niet') Now, back to tending to natural growth, or something else seemingly confused.

If you want to know, you want to know how you know, and how you know that, etcetera. You can replace 'know' with words like understand, prove, clear up, etcetera. Thinking is in all kinds of regressions; there's only a practical limitation on them.

I want to know how thinking feels to people with mostly non verbal thoughts, or no inner dialogue. When I'm thinking it feels like I'm constantly relating to language (symbolic order in which I'm socialized) and others. Does it feel the same for, for example, visual people?

The more I think about it, the less I get all this acting you're supposed to do; if everyone knows everyone is acting, what's the point? Is it the added excitement of trying to figure out to what extent people are sincere because people are bored with the clichés they're circulating?

Realism is way overrated. Nevertheless, there is a reality. More to the point, that reality is much more enjoyable when you don't fuss too much about the thoughts about, with others or yourself. ☝️ Zen in a nutshell ☝️

Parasocial relationships have been around much longer than modern media; as long as people have had private spaces, there will have been parasocial relationships. Because being able to hide a lot of yourself enables you to present a part or parts of yourself strategically.

Integrating your personality isn't that important, but resolving conflicts is. This is because you've likely picked up widely diverting influences because culture is messy. If you really notice and feel deep conflict, resolve it to your satisfaction. This is a good driver for progress.

About the intersubjectivity of language: How strange is 'strange,' of it isn't wholly strange? How usual is the 'usual,' if it isn't wholly uniform? Can you be your unique self in language if it isn't truly yours? Does the flexibility of language always permit it?
