He amassed 373 career victories and was an original member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Arguably the greatest pitcher who ever laced them up. He died penniless in a flop house. Most of the doughboys who went into the trenches of “Flanders Field” didn’t come out the same.

He won the pitching triple crown 3 times, won 30 games 3 seasons in a row, still has the record of 90 shutouts and pitched over 300 innings 9 times! Missed 1918 season and came back from the trenches deaf in one ear from artillery fire, epileptic and an alcoholic. PTSD. His 26 feat was 7 years later

October 11, 1926 Grover Cleveland (Ole Pete) Alexander, after a complete game 6 victory, came out of the pen in game 7 to strike out Lazarri with the bases loaded in the 7th inning and then went on to set down the Yankees and deliver the first STL Cardinals world championship. We went to a Greece with about 20 folks and there were two Canadian couples. We got on great and exchanged contact info encouraging them to visit us in Rochester. Both couples said the same thing. Not until Trump is gone.
