I'm no artist, but I am a TTRPG cartographer! I'll be taking part in #Holoctober in my own way by making maps! Day 1 - Stickman I went with a simple, old-school layout (with color and theme added in) based on Calli. I hope you all enjoy! #calliillust

One could argue that as the most widely read genre, romance is most deserving of care and attention, a refusal to concede to bland extruded text from the Average Intelligence machine. The potential to reach the greatest number of readers with your art, with your intellect, can be through romance.

This is part of what I'm referring to with many people demanding stories that reassure them they're a good person. They want the moral instruction because otherwise, rather than processing the reading experience, there's a thrum of "am I bad? am I bad? what if someone finds out I'm bad?"

Tumblr post by graftini:

stories about abuse are allowed to exist without reducing themselves to moral instruction. i think sometimes when people complain about the “romanticization” of abuse, what they're actually objecting to isn't necessarily the way abuse is being represented, but the fact that the representation doesn't provide them with constant moral reassurance. like, there is a difference between “this story frames abuse as desirable or inherently romantic” and “this story depicts abuse in an erotic/ambiguous/complicated way and doesn't repeatedly tell me that abuse is bad, therefore the depiction itself is irresponsible.”

TFW you're losing the will to live after 7 consecutive cruises:

Tryptich meme consisting of a widescreen image above two square photos. All three show the same white brunette woman; in the top photo she is wearing a novelty blue/red/white hat whilst staring forlornly into a bathroom mirror; in the left she is wearing the same hat but is sat with her face in one hand in a hallway; in the right she isn't wearing the hat and is lying face-down on a towel on the deck of a crise ship in a planking pose.
