Biggar Library's latest book recommendation comes from Lorraine 😊
Biggar Library recommends The Ballad of Ronan McCoy by Colin Morgan.
Ronan is smart, sporty and popular — everything Brendan feels he isn’t. Yet Ronan always makes Brendan feel like a good friend, a good person, and a better version of himself.
On the first day of their final year at school, Brendan discovers that something terrible happened to Ronan over the summer, and that his best friend will never be quite the same again. As the year unfolds, Brendan has to learn how to navigate the new shape of their friendship and, ultimately, find his own place in the world without Ronan there to protect him.
A fantastic debut novel with wonderful, believable characters and a deeply moving story. I really enjoyed it and found it both heartfelt and emotional.
Recommended by Lorraine. Also available in Borrowbox in eAudio
