I am seeing a lot of "Trump and Musk are destroying this country." While this is, in its most simplistic form, true, we absolutely need to put the blame for our demise squarely where it belongs, on the Republican members of Congress. They are ignoring their checks and balance responsibility.

Another lie. Trump said Canada does not allow US banks in Canada. Yet Chase has banks in Canada, as do US Bank, Wells Fargo, and others.

We are on the precipice of becoming a fascist autocracy. Today, Trump took several big steps to plunge us into fascist hell, not only visually but also through his latest orders. Putting his military on display like he did is a petty display of power meant to intimidate.

I wonder if his supporters understand one of the ironies of these J6 pardons... the felon in the White House erased the felonies of the J6 perpetrators with his pardons. Those pardoned can now go and buy weapons, but trump, who is a convicted felon, cannot own a weapon of any kind.

Democrats attended the inauguration knowing trump would attempt to humiliate them. They weren't there to bow to the clown. They remind us that we have a long history of tradition and fairness that strengthens us even when the oligarchy tries to break us. We will remember who we are in time.

President Biden's response to a reporter asking who gets credit for the deal was perfect: "Is this a joke?" The ceasefire deal is a great parting achievement for an accomplished statesman, and Trump is petty in his attempt to steal this achievement.

Yesterday, a great humanitarian and forward-looking president was laid to rest. Today, our pres-elect was sentenced for his 34 felonies. The contrast between these 2 men could not be starker. One represents our country's honorable intentions of the past, the other, our less than honorable future.

What's happening in our country is so depressing that I have decided that Madame Secretary is my virtual government. It's not perfect but is a superb version of how government could be. I know it's a dream world, but damn it is better than the animal farm we are facing.
