April river

Sunset colors on a spring river and in sky. The river is full, so the water is wide and its currents look like texture on its surface. Trees on both banks are still bare. The flood water is getting close to overrunning an outcrop of granite bedrock in the foreground and a patch of dead grass next to the rock.

River shore has deep mounds of sculpted snow drifts beside the water. Wind has smoothed their surface like rolling hills. Next to the river their edges have dropped off into the water and look like tiny perpendicular rough cliffs.

Classic 'calming behavior' after mistakenly bumbling into the territory of weirdos. Avoid their eyes...hold very still...do not trigger attack.

Small brown fluffy puppy has accidentally encountered an inflatable penguin and snowman her same size in the snow. She's sitting very still and avoiding their their eyes, instinctive dog behavior meant to calm down strangers who might attack.

Super low tide today after super moon. Students from a university were out there collecting eel grass to transplant to a cove up the coast where it's been disappearing.

An unusually low tide today is lit by late afternoon light. At center are silhouettes of a cluster of marine science students standing and looking down at the sand. Beyond them is the silhouette of a boat left at anchor in very little water. Beyond that, an exposed sandbar stretches the width of the scene. Farthest out is a distant shoreline of trees.

Fog lifting
