Finally managed to watch #thevampirelestat and will now be making it my entire personality for the next week. Seven episodes of Lestat being extra as fuck in every colour of the rainbow and I am here for it.

I hate to give up on a series like this, one that’s so obviously written with care, with a fully realised FMC that has a fascinating back story, and a rich cultural history, but I cannot with the shoehorning of love interests that treat Jane like absolute shit from one book to the next (1/) #booksky

The bright side to having had this sat on my TBR pile for so long is that I don’t have to wait for the sequels. This was fun and heartbreaking and educational. The weaving of Black history and Arthurian legend was beautifully done, and I love that Bree is here to Fuck Their Shit Up #legendborn 💙📚

In other news, Foundation has nailed it in every damn season so far. I think this has been The Show for me for the last few years #foundation

Finally, a Superman film that’s FUN. This is what happens when you actually give your characters a personality and not just a costume. This was written and acted with joy stamped all over it #superman

Damn, it’s good to have Melanie Scrofano back on my TV screen. Added bonus is that I’m actually thoroughly enjoying #therevival too.

I’m still mulling over this one. It had a great lead, plenty of twists and turns, and it kept me interested right until the end. But the sharp POV changes mid-stream felt jarring and threw me out of the story more than once. I think the author was trying for omniscience but (1/2) #booksky 📚💙

I have more time for Apple TV because I feel like I can genuinely invest in a show, knowing the chances of it being cancelled prematurely are slimmer than other platforms. Really enjoyed Murderbot and now we have a new season of Foundation! #murderbot #foundation 🪐

On the one hand, I’m super mad it took me so long to read this book. On the other, I only have to wait a week for the next one! 📚💙 #sarahashem #booksky

I’ve randomly picked three new books by authors I’ve never read before, and now I’m furiously staring at my kindle willing at least one of them to be mind blowing before I open it 📚 #booksky

I had three books on the go (which is unlike me) when I picked up The Knight and the Moth. And now none of them are hitting the spot because I just want to gorge on Rachel Gillig. But I can’t because I’ve read everything Rachel Gillig 📚 #booksky #rachelgillig

I’ve not much for the romantasy anymore. My tastes have changed and I’m less interested in a romance-driven story, and more a strong tale with some hard-won romance thrown in. This book lends itself more to that latter, and that’s probably why I enjoyed it so bloody much 📚 #booksky #rachelgillig

After waiting patiently for a few weeks until my friend was free for a cinema date, I finally got to see Sinners tonight. Holy shit. That was intense. And mesmerising. I haven’t been that riveted by a film in a very long time #sinners

The Rookie has fast become one of my favourite shows. The optimism! The embedded integrity! The diversity! I need it right now, even if it feels like a pipe dream #therookie

I’m so far behind on Doctor Who. I decided on a re-watch first and the Matt Smith era is still my favourite. The storylines! River Song! The Ponds! Even more River Song! Just an absolute bloody joy #doctorwho

The Forbidden Game was one of the first fantasy series I read as a kid. It’s still one of my favourites to do this day. I think I’ll reread it in honour of Smith this week. What a loss 📚💙 #booksky #ljsmith

I fell for the hype and found myself disappointed with a BookTok “sensation” yet again. I really did have such high hopes for this one, but every other chapter just crashes into every possible romantasy trope and cliche, and it’s not even clever or creative about it #booksky 💙📚

I’m really glad Egwene brought the pain at the end of season two, because I was beginning to despair that she would ever be more than just The Love Interest. Every other character kept repeatedly subverting my expectations of them except her, until that last episode #wheeloftime

I’ve watched two seasons of WoT in two days because the stars aligned and I’m on annual leave. Chores got downgraded on the priorities list. There are more important things going on, like Rand’s cheekbones and the women on this show being just absolutely bloody fabulous all of time #wheeloftime

I read my first Rachel Bach this weekend and it was a jolly good time. And then in a completely unrelated turnabout, I indulged in some nostalgia and rewatched Firefly. I miss those guys so much, but mostly Zoe and River #scifi #rachelbach #firefly #booksky 🪐💙📚

Fine. I will watch Wheel of Time. But just know that if I end up liking it, I’m blaming all of you for not forcing me to watch it sooner #wheeloftime #wot

Look, Kavax is my favourite. I’m only on the third book, and I know Brown isn’t one to pull his punches, but if he dies, there will be a new Rising. It will mostly just be me, typing a strongly worded post and hashtagging furiously until he’s miraculously resurrected 💙📚 #booksky #scifi #piercebrown

I’ve done nothing for the past three days but go to work (resentfully), eat, shower and ignore my to-do list, all so I could read Red Rising. And I haven’t learned my lesson, because I’m about to start Golden Son 📚💙 #booksky #scifi #piercebrown
