With this code, you'll get the block placeholder instead of a preview, which just says the block name, and the edit block button to launch the new modal editor. The `blocks/preview/render` JS filter could let you render a different view, or component if you wanted to as well!

An example image showing the outcome of the provided Gist code. The ACF block preview is turned into static "Edit Block" button that allows the user a way to launch the new ACF edit modal.

Using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) Blocks v3, but don't want previews to ever render in the admin? You can bring back the blocks v2 experience of "supports: mode: false" and "mode: "edit"" using a custom callback. gist.github.com/lgladdy/1caf...

The problem with Slow Horses is that I've never been able to watch an episode without ending up doing the whole season in one session. It's really very good TV.

I didn’t know mountain warehouse did haircuts these days 🤭

The AirPods Pro 3 are genuinely next level in terms of fit. I always used to think I must have really weird ears to never see people complaining just how much time you had to spent pressing them back in… I don’t think I’ve touched the 3’s after I’ve put them in once yet.

I’ll be there! If anyone wants to chat about anything Advanced Custom Fields, look for me in the ACF hat!

In Austin again this week. Today, I finally went to Interstellar BBQ after being told for the last 2 years I have to get out there, I figured it was gunna just be the same as standard downtown BBQ, but it really isn’t… it’s next level, and totally as good as everyone says.

I wasn’t expecting my coffee machine to also have the emergency alert test and siren, but at least I know I’ll be safe during the 5 minutes I’m stood there each morning.

South Gloucestershire launched a new recycling collection system last week, and the best part is it has an API which contains hidden live status. This means, I can now make my home assistant integration show the live status of each collection.

Some beautiful vortexes from the Shamrock tonight. And a train that doesn’t stop at Didcot so feels about 15m faster.

Gunna get to Tokyo eventually! 🇯🇵

Picked a great day to travel from Heathrow. The tunnel closure meant no cars could get to the airport this morning, and everyone tried to use the trains… which led to platform overcrowding so they cancelled all the trains too…

Also watch out for covid. I got a cold 3 weeks ago heading back from America, and then covid last week...

Managed to build a garden that, virtually every day this week, a new flower has appeared. Today’s turn is this spectacular Dahlia!

Waking up to new flowers blossoming is a pretty great benefit to having a garden.

Maybe it’ll wear off eventually, but Apple Music’s new automix feature delights virtually every time. Even when it’s super goofy, it’s just delightful.

Got to experience a Texas storm today. It’s wild how different it is to a storm in the UK. From calm to intense strong winds in a flash, coupled with heavy rain and so much lightning, and then it’s all over again just as quick as it started.

A 6am wake up hopefully means I’ve dominated jet lag on day one. Hello, Austin!

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 10/06/2025

I did a workout this morning with Workout Buddy and AI music mixing in iOS/WatchOS 26... it's just delightful. I'm glad Apple focused on the small features that bring delight this year. #WWDC25 (Although, no more compact tabs in Desktop Safari is still unforgivable)

Is this the year we finally get iCloud Time Machine? #WWDC

If only I could convince the BBC to do a Ground Force reunion and have them take care of it all for me! Do you think they’d include a nice wood smoker too?

000

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 02/06/2025

Ohhh, that’s much prettier than you made it seem! I like the little walkway to the cooking bit, I wanna do something like that from the corner I took the photo over to the shed, so less grass and maybe more cottage flowers, and ideally water involved somewhere. Maybe that’s a 2026 job!

110

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 02/06/2025

I’m working up to that. I had some cheap feeders last month for the cute little birds, but then I got into a fight with a crow who realised he could lift it up, smash it on the grass and break it open… 😡 I’ve got all kinds of grand plans for roses and trees though!

010

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 02/06/2025

Also, where’s the pictures of your garden?! Inspire me!

100

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 02/06/2025

I never understood why people watched the Chelsea Flower Show before either, now I have a notebook of plant names I’ve seen and liked the look of! And don’t get me started on grass maintenance, I’m basically an expect and have one of each type of product to keep it perfect now!

100

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 02/06/2025

I never realised how much I’d enjoy gardening before I bought a house. Now I just want to spend all my free time out here.

The hard late winter and early spring lawn maintenance has paid off.

Yeh, I'm on iOS! Let me know if I can get you any debug logs from Xcode or anything when opening the app which might give you pointers :)

000

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 12/03/2025

@smarthound.uk Since I moved to a house with both Gas / Elec, the app regularly just falls stops loading data for one source. If I reinstall the app, it immediate repopulates on open. Any debugging I can do to help you pinpoint why?

Many of the new features we're planning to ship this year require some fundamental refactoring of our codebase, which we've been hard at work at over the last few months. The first of these ships in ACF 6.4 - so even if you don't use Woo HPOS (the main feature it enables) it's still worth testing!

000

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 10/03/2025

Using Advanced Custom Fields PRO (ACF) on WordPress? We’d love your help testing the first of the many big new features we’re planning for 2025 - these features require some fundamental refactors, and ACF 6.4 brings the first of these. www.advancedcustomfields.com/blog/acf-pro...

Very very excited. The folks who made Twitter so good for so many years are here to save the day.

The world feed has been native 4k HDR @ 60fps for many years now... It basically launched with Sky Q 4k here in the UK back in 2017.

My twitter subscription is about to expire, and obviously I’m not giving them any more money… Is there any good Mac apps for Bluesky yet?

010

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 30/11/2024

Wow so little faith. The bots haven’t made it over here just yet.

000

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 30/11/2024

I thought I’d give you something to post as a welcome.

100

Liam Gladdy @liamg.dev · 16/11/2024

I wish Bluesky’s iOS app would let you resize when you run it on a Mac. Or maybe Tweetbot can make a Bluesky client and it could actually replace X for me.
