Taking every side in a debate is not winning. Trump's superpower has always been showing up with his own facts (lies) Expressing his lies confidently. And denying anything that is inconvenient to him. Trump's 2nd super power is flooding the zone with so many lies the opposition is overwhelmed.

This announcement has strong the "Strait of Hormuz is now open" vibes. The Strait of Hormuz is NOT open for all intents & purposes, AND Trump & Hegseth have so depleted American resources in the region, that Trump was unable to help Saudi Arabi fend off a Houthis attack, limiting Red Sea access.
Saudi Arabi asked Trump for help defending the region from invading Houthis, Trump said "no".
Houthis made tremendous gains securing the narrow gap at the mouth of the Red Sea.
Trump seemed unconcerned as Iran and its ally tightened their control of all tanker traffic in the region.
What was Trump doing while all this was happening, Trump was on a tax payer funded Golfing weekend at his course in Ireland, with tremendous pomp including 24 vehicles and 19 motorcycles all flown to Ireland for the 2 day visit. In addition Trump flew Air Force One, his Qatar Force One and a smaller plane all for his personal use.
Trump is the only Businessman in the US known to have bankrupt 6 Casinos. Casinos famously make money, Trump has a long history of engaging in money laundering, through his Casinos & Real Estate Deals largely with Russian counterparts.
Trump was largely considered to be nearing bankruptcy again before his second term in the White House, his Media company was fighting off insolvency, his businesses were failing, and Trump seemed unable to pay the $88.3 million judgement against him owed to the women E. Jean Carrol who Trump was found to have raped in 1996.

Two years into Trump's second presidency Trump is suddenly a billionaire.
But that is due largely to private dealings from within the White House and govt contracts to his children his friends and selling pardons to drug dealers, sex offenders & financial fraudsters.

Mitch McConnell of Kentucky has been a senator since 1984.
15
He has an estimated net worth of $66.04 million. Most of McConnell's wealth is reported to be held in a Vanguard 500 index fund. The bulk of his wealth comes from a gift from his father in 2008. He and his wife, Elaine Chao, also reported a gift of between $5 million and $25 million from her family in his 2008 disclosure.
16

Chao, who is an economist, was a cabinet secretary in the administrations of George W. Bush and Donald J. Trump.

Donald Trump's latest financial disclosure has opened an unusually detailed window into the scale and pace of trading activity tied to the US president's investment portfolio.

The filing, submitted on Thursday to the US Office of Government Ethics through two OGE Form 278-T reports, disclosed more than 3,600 transactions executed between January and the end of March 2026.

The cumulative value of the trades ranged from at least $220 million (€188mn) to as much as $750 million (€641mn) as federal ethics disclosures only require broad valuation bands rather than precise figures.

US presidents are not banned from trading financial markets but must disclose personal trades. No charges were made or proven acts of insider trading have been outlined but the revelation still draws ethics scrutiny and a push for trading restrictions.

The filings do not specify whether Trump directed the trades. His personal assets and business empire are actively run and managed by his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, but some entries also indicate broker involvement.

The documents reveal extensive exposure to some of Wall Street's biggest names, particularly in technology and specifically AI.Individual purchases of Nvidia, Microsoft, Broadcom, Amazon, Apple and others ranged from $1 million (€856,000) to $5 million (€4.27mn) in disclosed value while buy orders of AMD, Intel, Goldman Sachs, Alphabet, Airbnb, DoorDash, Micron, Bloom Energy and others ranged from $500,000 (€427,500) to $1 million (€856,000) in disclosed value.

US President Donald Trump also reported hundreds of stock sales ranging from $15,000 (€12,825) to up to $25 million (€21.37mn).

According to the report, and assuming the holdings have remained relatively the same since the end of March, Trump is 20% or more in profit on almost all of the names indicated here and others.

In particular, Trump is over 100% in profit on AMD, Intel, Iridium Communications, Bloom Energy, Intuitive Machines, Marvell Technology, Penguin Solutions, SanDisk, Seagate, Vishay Intertechnology and other stocks.

Based on the dates of the transactions it is also apparent that Trump heavily bought the price dip in March caused by the start of the Iran war. The S&P 500 dropped over 8% and bottomed at the end of the month, subsequently rising around 19% to record highs.

Additionally Donald Trump as President has traded more stocks personally or his interests and his Family have traded more stocks than any other president in United States history.

The most corrupt administration in America's 250 years is bragging about committing Stock Fraud, as a way of bragging about how rich he has made himself since coming to office, and uses twisted logic to try to convince listeners who do not know any better how this is somehow good for the country he is defrauding.

Failure to Protect: Trump Administration Gutted, Politicized, & Weaponized America's Counterterrorism Infrastructure Trump has eviscerated (DHS) components –removing more than 1,300 personnel involved in preventing, countering, & responding to terrorism link: www.hsgac.senate.gov/wp-content/u...
Findings
• The Administration has made Americans less safe by cutting the federal workforce by
thousands and grants by millions of dollars, but also by reallocating staff and refocusing
priorities away from countering threats posed by terrorism.
• The Administration has gutted the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau
of Investigation’s (FBI) capabilities. DOJ and FBI have lost more than 15,000 employees
and the Administration has specifically targeted more than 200 experienced lawyers and
agents who were involved in investigations and prosecutions they disfavor, including
those related to the January 6th attack on the Capitol and any investigations tied to
President Trump.
• The Administration has eviscerated key Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
components –removing more than 1,300 personnel involved in preventing, countering,
and responding to terrorism.
• Almost $1 billion in national security and public safety grants intended to protect
communities have been paused, cancelled, and politicized – weakening state, local,
Tribal, territorial, and private sector capacity.
• Law enforcement officers and agents, intelligence analysts, and lawyers from across the
government have been reassigned to focus on immigration enforcement to the detriment
of the national security and homeland security missions from which they were pulled.
• The designation of cartels and gangs as foreign terrorist organizations has redefined
terrorism and stretched the capacity of the country’s counterterrorism personnel and
resources

One of the greatest discrepancies between Canadians & Americans, was in their idea of what earned respect. For Americans, the capacity to project power-- For Canadians the capacity to endure. It’s funny to wake up relieved that you’re about to take a beating. -Stephen Marche (Gloves Off Podcast)
ARTICLE edited for size:
By Stephen Marche
Mr. Marche is host of the “Gloves Off” podcast.
Friday, Aug. 21, may go down in history as Canada’s Liberation Day. It was the day America came for us, and we said no.
The trade negotiations between the United States and Canada had been moving forward in the weeks after President Trump first threatened 50 percent tariffs on Canadian goods, but just before midnight, Prime Minister Mark Carney rejected the American proposal. “Last-minute changes in the U.S.-proposed terms were unfair, uneconomic and called into question the reliability of any deal,” Mr. Carney said in a statement. “Canada will match those tariffs dollar for dollar to protect our workers and businesses.”
It was a decision made, seemingly, on the spur of the moment, but the deep history of this country paved the way for this one critical gesture — a historic “no.”
For Canada, the choice came down to either accepting severe but temporary economic instability or binding itself to a pseudodemocratic fiscal basket case of a nation whose only apparent foreign policy objective has become domination for the gratification of its president’s slapdash vanity.
But Mr. Carney did not simply reject a trade offer on Friday. He was openly defiant of the new breed of American aggression. “We will not allow any nation to determine our future,” he said.
It was a unique statement for any leader in Canada to make. The country has long defined itself through its participation in global systems, seeing itself as a node in the larger orders of the world, the postwar trans-Atlantic order and, before that, the British Empire. Mr. Carney is taking Canada in another direction, emphasizing national sovereignty on every front — economic, political, military and technological.

One of the greatest discrepancies between Canadians and Americans — and Canadian and American men in particular — was in their basic idea of what earned respect.
For Americans, the capacity to project power, the abil…

A Mess Attendant Ran Toward The Guns. A President Had Bone Spurs.
One of them is about to lose an aircraft carrier to the other.
The Jack Hopkins Now Newsletter #1,006: Saturday, August 22nd, 2026

Let me tell you what a man did on a Tuesday morning in December of 1941…and then… let me tell you what’s being done to him…now.

Doris Miller was collecting laundry.

That was the job. Mess attendant. Son of a sharecropper…grandson of slaves…out of Waco, Texas.

In a segregated Navy…that would not let a Black man touch a weapon…his role was essentially personal servant to white officers. He made their beds. He carried their food. He gathered their dirty shirts.

Then…the first Japanese torpedo hit the USS West Virginia.

His battle station was destroyed. He was ordered to the bridge…where he helped carry the ship’s mortally wounded captain out of the fire.

Then…he found a .50 caliber anti-aircraft gun; a weapon he had never been trained on… had never been permitted to be trained on…because of the color of his skin…and he loaded it…and fired it at aircraft that were killing his shipmates.

He is credited with bringing down at least one plane.
And…when the order came to abandon ship…Doris Miller did not abandon ship. He stayed. He pulled men out of burning water.

Admiral Nimitz pinned the Navy Cross on him in May of 1942.

Two years later…he was killed in action…at twenty-four years old, aboard the escort carrier Liscome Bay.

Now Here’s This Week
Two sources told CNN…there have been internal conversations about naming it after Donald Trump instead.

Go ahead…puke, I'll understand.

Naming a carrier…after a sitting president…would be unprecedented. Never. Been. Done. Not for Roosevelt…not for Eisenhower…not for Reagan…men who waited until they were dead…which is traditionally considered good manners in these matters.

But here’s the part I want you to appreciate, because it’s almost too perfect:
Trump’s own administration named that ship after Miller.

The Logic is straight forward: a neighborhood doesn’t need to be purchased at full price if externalities can first be imposed that make it worth less. www.dailykos.com/stories/2026...
this passage describes the term EXTERNALITITES:

Costs which are imposed by rezoning an area because of power & connections, this rezoning imposes costs upon residents, costs imposed without consent, mitigation, infrastructure, or compensation, they become a mechanism of wealth transfer. It moves value from the people who live there to the interests that can afford to wait, buy low, and convert the remaining asset into income-producing property.

The logic is straightforward: a neighborhood doesn’t need to be purchased at full price if externalities can first be imposed that make it worth less.

SASC DOD Budget Hearing in Washington DC
Anadolu//Getty Images
Granted, it is a few dozen bungled policies ago, but remember when we were blowing up fishing boats in the Caribbean as part of the administration’s Operation Dude Bro antidrug strategy? Well, the results are in, and they are sadly predictable. From The Washington Post:

In a recent assessment reviewed by The Washington Post, DEA analysts found the strikes had failed to affect the supply or price of cocaine in the United States and had led traffickers to diversify beyond go-fast boats and to avoid international waters, opting instead for larger boats and hemming close to coastlines, where U.S. forces are less likely to open fire. In a closed-door briefing last month, Pentagon officials told lawmakers the strikes in international waters off South and Central America had not reduced its purity.
On the one hand, it’s somewhat comforting. We now know that this misbegotten band of boobs and yahoos has formulated an antidrug policy that’s as futile and dumbassed as those of every other administration that killed people with promiscuous glee, blowing fishermen out of the water and claiming, utterly without evidence, that they were all drug couriers. The psychopathy is the difference.Traffickers are also relying more on aircraft, which take off from clandestine airstrips along the Colombian-Venezuelan border and head east to Guyana and Suriname to avoid U.S. forces, according to the DEA assessment. “When you squeeze the balloon on one side, it always expands on the other side,” one DEA official told The Post. “They always find the weak spots and exploit them.” The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the subject publicly.
I’m sure there will be repercussions among the boobs and yahoos, not about the failure of the murderous policy but against whoever it was who leaked the documentation of the murderous policy’s abject failure. Maybe the Pentagon and the DEA, staffed by administration nominees, are now both run by the Deep State.
At least the lives of several thousand game fish were saved.

The worst kept secret on the internet, (after how bad Donald Trump smells in real life), is that the #MitchMcConnell is almost certainly not functioning as a LIVE human being right now. So let me share this thoughtful Memoriam to the soon-to-be former Senator written in 2017 by Greg Olear.
I wrote a short piece about it on my now-defunct online magazine in July of 2017, under the title “Worst Americans: Mitch McConnell.” It read:

Rather than participating in the governance of the country through the time-honored tradition of compromise, he spent eight years as a living, breathing roadblock. The current Senatorial system of obstructionism has his fingerprints all over it.

When debriefed on the extent to which malignant Russian intelligence forces were compromising the presidential campaigns and the election, he threatened to accuse Obama of playing partisan politics if he went public with the bombshell....

His wife, Elaine Chao, is the daughter of the Taiwanese shipping magnate James S.C. Chao, who is responsible for both personally enriching his son-in-law and for contributing to his campaigns, which would be fine if not for the big cocaine bust nobody paid any attention to. Elaine Chao serves in Trump’s cabinet, because of course.
