I didn’t buy anything on Friday but that doesn’t mean i slept better last night. TY @tuck.bsky.social - If we offer broad, easy solutions that demonstrably do not work, not only are we wasting people’s time / attention / resources, but we are creating the false sense that movement work will be easy.

What do we do in light of the destruction in Lahaina? As scientists, solutions are couched as policies and technologies. Yes, and let’s deeply consider mutual aid. “Mutual aid projects expose the reality that people do not have what they need and propose that we can address this injustice together.”
