This lifesaving care lowers the risk of depression and suicide. Gender-affirming care decisions should be left to a provider, patient, and the patient’s parents or guardians. These decisions are made entirely for the needs of the individual.

We are deeply alarmed by the reports of gender-affirming medical care for minors being paused in WI. Every major medical association in the country recognizes that this care is evidence-based. Decades of clinical research have shown the consequences of withholding care can be tragic.
