Mixed feelings about the season 1 finale of #Lanterns. Definitely some WTH moments but left with a longing for things left undone. The wrap-up for all the characters didn't seem as fulfilling as I'd hoped. But I hold judgment and await season 2.

"Consequences, it shall be." Latest #Lanterns episode was full of dealing with consequences. Hal, John, Rushville, the residents. I do like how John is taking control (as much as he can) and doing things his way. But that funeral was just wild -- Carol Ferris! What a eulogy. "I hope I mattered."

Tough loss in the championship game for the ice #hockey summer league. 4-1 final, but the game was a lot closer than the score shows. got an assist on our lone goal, 4 shots on goal, and drew a penalty. but we just didn't have puck luck. good season for HK.

Much better in a classroom setting. I tried using Duolingo and felt like I wasn't learning anything. too much gamification. we did breakout into smaller groups to practice speaking and responding with our limited vocabulary. really helped!

the first class was about greetings and classroom phrases. some learning about basic sentence structure (noun X wa noun Y desu). she is also teaching Hiragana, but we ran out of time other than to run through a, i, u, e, o.

Had my first Japanese language class with 17 other beginner students. The sensei is absolutely amazing and so encouraging. Despite my early nerves, I ended up really enjoying the class and learning new words. Just need to keep practicing!

I got mocked for using a first-round fantasy football draft pick (3rd overall) to take a quarterback (Josh Allen). Took Kenneth Walker III in the 2nd round (30th overall). Trounced my opponent this week and eyes for week 2 on the person who mocked me. Revenge will be sweet.
