I'm sure I could use a voltage divider to increase the resolution of it, but for now this is okay. Whenever the smd kit gets here... ZL and ZR were easy to implement.

Turns out the IDAC isn't weak enough. I managed to get it working but the resolution is very low since it only has 9 usable steps. From 0-255 down to 0-8. Anything greater and it's too much for the c-stick so it hits the edge. Thankfully, most games already smooth out the camera so it's not bad.

I added an input reader (sort of). Button data sent out via UART to another microcontroller. In this case it's a Pro Micro acting as a generic USB controller. Still taking controller input at the same time. Here it's running the FRLG Sweet Scent script, so you can see what exactly is being pressed.

Unfortunately this does not make 8bitdo's GCN retro receivers work with Loopy's controller mod. I relied on Loopy's comments in his controller mod and on a whim it ended up working out for the WavePhoenix.

I was trying to add a "SM64DS" mode but it's a PITA because the game has an autocorrect feature for the virtual joystick for the first few frames of input. Only fix is keeping the joystick active at all times but I don't think that's ideal. Idk how to fix it here. Other projects patch the game.

This is for a new DS controller mod and the dongle currently looks like this. Arduino loads custom mappings from the microSD card and reads the Wii Classic controller.

The amount of capture card installations I've done are in the triple digits and, unfortunately, this seems true. Unless they also get it with a controller mod. People who get controller mods seem to be more likely to use them.

Set up a Sweet Scent bot on Silver and it took over 100 hours before finally finding a shiny and confirming the bot works.

Permanently marred wtf man. This colorway (and the NES controller edition) have zero matching replacement shells available. Maybe forgivable if he put the USB-C port over the charge port so only the back housing is altered, but this method alters that plus the middle housing and the battery cover!!!

Mine only supported Wii Classic controllers. Loopy's supported SNES, N64, PS1/2, GameCube, and Wii Classic support. Also manipulating the circle pad was also a PITA. Loopy's solution is best. If you already have an N3DS XL with Loopy's cmod installed, it can be updated with this new firmware.

Instead of improving my own controller mod, I'm updating Loopy's controller mod to work on New 3DS/2DS XLs. Repurposes the IR pin on the controller mod to send data to another mcu (Arduino) and it will control ZL, ZR, and the c-stick. Main benefit is retaining supported for all the controllers.

Bypass Sleep Mode Switch Pin 4 on the controller mod is only for PS1/2 controllers, so I broke the trace and connected the pin to TP126 (hall effect sensor out). Pulling it high allows the 3DS to stay awake even when closed.

SNES controller circuit based on codeberg.org/taylor-madea... There are two pads for adding a photoresistor for other types of hunts, but I'm mainly gonna keep this closed while it's running, hence the Sleep bypass switch. This can also be used for a twitchplays setup similar to DekuNukem's 3xtDS.

Making a little shiny hunting bot The 2 chips on the side are essentially an SNES controller. The RP2040-Tiny will input the button sequence. Strictly Sweet Scent hunts since it can't see or hear anything. Plugs directly into controller mod port on 3DS. Will also have a switch to bypass Sleep.

There's no reason why TPC can't continue to support transferring Pokémon from older generations with another method. The Wii had My Pokémon Ranch which was a Diamond & Pearl Pokémon Box that required zero special hardware. Just your DS and a Wii.

I looked into making tiny WavePhoenix receivers for them but Loopy's controller mod isn't natively compatible and I can't even get around it with an adapter like Wii Retropad Adapter. It does work with Mayflash's adapter but you can't press Start & Select simultaneously. I'll stick to oem receivers.

Sleep Mode can be bypassed by pulling the sensor output pin up to 1.8V, so the 3DS can stay closed but be awake and viewed through the capture card output. I want to make a cluster setup like Raspberry Pis have.

The og 3DS is the smallest model so I want to make a 4x setup with each one being a different color + somewhat matching ports (USB-C and header receptacle). However, I can only find them in black, red, blue, and white, so those will be the 3DS colors (plus this one). No purple 😔
