(I've wanted to get these thoughts out there for a bit, please don't judge me for this-)

"Workout" scene again, Larry flat on the trampoline - I saw this while getting images for this thread, and I thought it was funny

the Pirates silly song especially, tho that might mostly be because of Larry's design literally giving me nightmares as a kid-

"The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" Larry smiling at the camera - yes, this design of Pirate Larry gave me several nightmares as a kid, and still irks me to this day. Why? I think it's because of the eyepatch covering his eye, and the fact that he tends to look at the camera a lot with his one eye

far shot with Larry, Mr. Lunt and Pa Grape in their respective chairs - Larry, please stop looking at me like that-

closeup of Mr. Lunt with Larry in the background - ok, am I the only one that noticed that the lighting is off in this shot? especially on Larry, it makes him look like one of those deepfried memes

top shot at the end of the song - the music was another factor of me fearing this song, but it going faster during the end really didn't help

not helped that some of the songs featured, while fine on their own, just add to the eerie vibe for me

"Dance of the Cucumber" Bob and Larry under a spotlight with the camera pulled back - one thing this song has that the countertop scenes don't is the surrounding darkness, the mere idea that the rest of the kitchen is pitch black is enough to put me on edge

"Stand" ending shot of the factory gates with George smiling at the camera - I think the distance away from George, plus the long note of the song that plays here, is what makes this shot creepy for me

"The Hairbrush Song" Larry in his towel looking at the camera, with a concerned face - again the darkness of the kitchen, but combined with the angle of the countertop, gives that eerie vibe even more

"The Bunny Song" Mr. Nezzer in the void at the end of the song - ok I admit, I'm really scared of the dark, and seeing Nezzer here remain in the void before fading out triggers my paranoia of the dark, which is why the previous silly songs creeped me out - especially not helped that this is the second-to-last scene, before...

🧵 so I think I figured out why the VT episode Very Silly Songs still makes me uneasy to this day to me, it has a similar feeling to liminal space in a way I can't describe

"Workout" countertop scene at the beginning of the episode, with a sideview of Larry hopping back and forth - I think a big factor here is the extended view of the countertop with a camera view barely used in the show

"Home Improvement" countertop scene, Larry on a wrench looking at the camera - again with the camera angle, but in combination with Larry staring straight at us

countertop scene with Bob, right before the Bunny Song - something about the quietness of this scene adds a sense of dread for what's to come, but I'll explain that later in the thread

"Success" scene, Larry talking to the camera, surrounded by tropical decorations - one thing I haven't mentioned yet is the music to these scenes adding to the uneasiness I feel, especially this one - not helped by the Sunny nightlight, which, while a neat idea for a prop, just has a dead stare for the entire scene

[VENT ART] at this point, I have 2 reactions to any piece of news: defeatist ("sure, of course, why not?") or internal screaming ("AAAAAAAAAAAAAA")

I did a thing! I made a model in MMD based on Susie, from an obscure German Kirby comic, which you can learn more about in this video made by @hsquidrev.bsky.social below

thanks to this video, I now know of the existence of Susie(no relation to the canon Susie), and I wanna see her adapted in fan works in fact, I might make a 3D model of her later-
