His performance in this film was one of the best of his career. My initial feeling about it wasn’t positive until I found out what it was really about and where the film was headed. After that I thought it was (is) great. A real shame most will refuse to see it

How much younger? In a couple of cases the sons of an original Commodore are in the group. Two sons (twins) are only 33 years old. The guys who wrote and sang their hits (Lionel Richie, etc) are long gone. Most left one group 30-40 years ago. So no, the group is not “Boomer Central”

But there are obviously more racist place than others. HBCU’s are below the Mason Dixon line (for instance) and not inherently racist - I would imagine. Scholarship athletes, often now paid beyond free tuition, housing, food, etc. to represent a university, are not “slaves.”
