iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Been a while since I drew something. Want to get back into the swing of it, starting with a redo of Sana. Not much going on in my October; should get a few pictures made in that time. #art #characterdesign #digitalart #illustration #fantasy

A redo of Amy's character art. Added shading and minor details to the existing design, but also greatly exaggerated the checkered bow behind her head. #art #characterdesign #digitalart #illustration

Looking at my latest various fanarts and inspired by my recent refresh of the story's villain, I wanted to give the older drawings of the other characters a glow-up too. Starting with one of our lead protagonists, Jacob Aaron Cogan (Jac for short). #art #characterdesign #digitalart

Gave the villain's character art a glow up. "They desire something they believe greater than themselves; something to glorify, exalt, fight for, sacrifice for. They desire something to...Worship. I say give them what they want." #art #digitalart #characterdesign #illustration

I'm the sort who draws first THEN writes the lore. "Yes, I aid the Massiark with his ambition. Yes, I work alongside his deluded followers. Yes, I strike their foes without guilt. All until I have my chance for Revenge." #author #characterart #digitalart #illustration #art #fantasy #fiction

They're twins, so it made sense to draw them simultaneously. "Your Wonders and Wits?" she asked him. "And your Blade and Board?" he to her. And thus with confidence did the two say in unison, "...We've got this!" #art #digitalart #character #design #AuthorLife #fantasy #fiction

Octavia E. Butler, 1998:

From EARTHSEED: THE BOOKS OF THE LIVING

Choose your leaders

with wisdom and forethought.

To be led by a coward

is to be controlled

by all that the coward fears.
To be led by a fool

is to be led

by the opportunists

who control the fool.

To be led by a thief

is to offer up

your most precious treasures

to be stolen.
To be led by a liar

is to ask

to be told lies.

To be led by a tyrant

is to sell yourself

and those you love

into slavery.

Drawing and scribbling concept art is always messy on the leadup to a character design you're satisfied with, yeah?
