What brings him out? It's hard to say. He's a rarer mood for me. One where I become 99% dominant. That 1% is because taming Merlot, especially hypnotically means you must bring your A-game. If you falter or bore him, he will instead imagine scenarios of how to dispose of you for wasting his time.

Merlot does always exist however even when Indigo is present. Sometimes he spills out a little. Aspects of him can appear in the moment such as shifts in visual appearance, noticeable bloodlust or feral energy. Restraining malign urges can be difficult so you MUST express if something is a no-go.
