The root of the problem isn't the franchise or even just 2K. They are one of many and any dev can do this and its quickly becoming a industry standard to make every game liveservice. This is why I mentioned Stop Killing Games. This needs to become illegal to build kill switches into software.

Honestly I don't like sports games at all. If the franchise dies, that's one thing. But people paid like 60-70 bucks for a game that only remained playable for 2-3 years? Even turning off the single player components to the game? That's just downright disgusting.

Some VA's feel the new ones are effectively Scabs. Others don't. Regardless, I can't look at situations like that and all the crap they were effectively using Honkai to test and in good conscience think or say "Well they haven't been caught outright doing it in the other 2 games so its fine."

There has definitely been an ongoing fight over AI protections that has gotten voice actors removed. A big part of that switch is to find VA's who don't care if they are later copied for AI. It has been resulted in a LOT of drama, especially between voice actors themselves.

Bit more spoilery from here. Where it leaves John at the very end isn't a very compelling place for the character. Green Lanterns biggest appeals is he is much more Sci-Fi than other heroes. Green Lantern of *just* earth isn't exactly a character I strongly want to follow moving forward.

Super Hero stories at their heart need to be character driven and it has that down strong. Super Hero stories are also Super Hero stories and if your super hero remains in plain clothes during an EIGHT HOUR ORIGIN STORY it can feel likes its missing something.

With such a limited pool of partners, they really shouldn't have gender restrictions on any of them. And at least two of them should leave OR stay in night city depending on your preference. Pretty easy to write that they want to stay with you and support you after what you went though.

On paper writing some characters to have fixed orientations isn't bad. But 2077 only has 4 romance options, all gender locked and all of them only support 1 of the two main endings to proceed. So your gender+ending dictates your valid romance partner, not preference.
