Morning fellow Music Botherers, As it's the weekend I reckon we can let our hair down with today's theme: Post a song of yours best enjoyed on a high. Exactly what kind of 'high' is entirely up to you. All I ask is that you add #HomeMadeMusic and quote this post with it. #musicsky #musiciansky

Does it sound good or have I just had a lot of caffeine today?

Wow - the way the fidelity switches from the intro part into the main song (and then back). Really beautiful. So many lovely sounds here.

Love the funky pop vibe on this song and the way it all floats along with those clean guitar lines. The drums remind me of Fine Young Cannibals :)

I like the smoothness of the drums and and the atmosphere of the organs and how it all blends with the lyrics in a kind of melancholy, but also there’s hope in there too. Cool song!

Morning Songwrights! I'm back from navigating a dog walk across floodlands, caused by about 5" of rain falling in 10 mins. Hence today's theme: Post a song of yours that mentions, was inspired by or has any kind of tenuous link to the weather. Mark it #HomeMadeMusic and quote this post too 🙏

BlueSky has its flaws, but without it I would never have become aware of Alison's utter beguiling ukulele versions of XTC songs. (Or, in the gorgeous example below, Dukes songs—leading to a most gratifying pun.) Honestly, give this a listen. You'll be so very glad you did.

Wow. Really beautiful. I love all the repetition in the lyrics but with slight variations and dud i hear it right that the reverb on the vocals kicks in a bit more after the first verse? So many bittersweet vibes in this song and those backing vocals at the end!! Great song!

I love the ending section where the lyrics and music shift away from hopelessness but like not in this big anthemic way but it has this feeling of resolve. Really cool song!

Thank you for sharing! I don’t have a Spotify but the little I heard from the preview sounds really cool. I like the way your voice carries over those heavy guitars.

Yeah I like the spareness of the instrumentation. Drums, keyboards, vocals. This a cool song! It really carried me along.

Love the way the guitars and the chiming sounds all ring together like a bell, but one that has some swing. This is a sweet and thoughtful song and I like how you’ve made something about something modern but lyrically it’s not anchored to a specific time.

This has such a natural earthy sound to me. It’s really soothing but with a tinge of melancholy. I really like the steady acoustic chord that comes in an out. It really grounds everything.

Such an interesting contrast between that dark guitar sound and the positivity of the lyrics and the later musical shifts. It’s really driving. Great song!

“All of this use to be orange groves, now we might cigarettes in the stove”. So much loss in this ballad but also empathy and nostalgia, and violence. The keyboards carry it so well and you can really hear the heartbreak in the vocals.

Such a gentle intimacy on this song. The vocals wrap you up and have such a nice lush watery quality. And those little lifts when you sing “did you ever get the feeling”, it’s such a tight little chorus. Great song! Sounds finished to me :)

You get so much sound and feeling out of that small ukulele! I really like the spareness of this and the catchy vocal melody. It reminds me of Green Day but without all the bombast. And I love the turn at the end in the lyrics and music. It’s uplifting but in a subtle way.

This is so hooky and has such a nice groove. The way all the percussion and the sound effects layer in and shift in and out is really neat. Like there’s always something new coming to the front but your carried along on a study flow.

you should show up to job interviews with a nested machine that you ask to plug in (bring extension chord) and also bring a variety of pods so you can offer different flavors. Additionally bring cups and creamer.

bizarre school assembly: Screech from Saved by the Bell came to my high school for an event to promote the Prom Promise, which was a promise not to do drugs, have sex and party on prom night, and he performed Gin and Juice by Snoop Dog, a song about driving while intoxicated.

It’s not the “model” being misled because you can’t mislead a model, it’s the consumer that is being misled by a specific design choice

Like infinite scroll, alerts, content algos, etc, it’s an intentional habit forming design.

levinskyleo.bsky.social @levinskyleo.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
Especially because the issue is the models are intentionally designed to seem more human. They don’t just innately tell you “great insight” all the time at every stupid idea you have.
