iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

And once again social media takes me from having a perfectly nice day to irritation. I am going to put my phone down and get outside for a bit.

Media has become endless talking about anything and everything but no option for nuanced points of view. You get a singular side explaining to a point beyond what's necessary and then people loudly commenting either agreement or the opposite. I need a quieter world that allows for grey areas.

I'm not sure what exactly I did but my Facebook algorithm has somehow become mostly pimple popping videos and Instagram is a watered down Book Tok. It's kinda like taking an amazing selfie but forgetting to crop out the fact that you were sitting on the toilet.

Probably time to check in here more often. Disinformation on the other big social media site is getting really out of control.

Played on the radio between Majesty Crush and New Canyons. My heart is so full right now!

Busy weekend and I am NOT ready for the work week but here we go...

Plan for 2025: Make art. Read banned books. Go to museums. Support local music. Support the things that need protection. Don't buy into the poison we are being fed. Fight the powers that be. Resist.

Texting people in different time zones is complicated. It's 5:00 pm in the UK. It's noon here. It's 9:00 am in Portland, Oregon. What if get confused and say "Good morning" to the wrong person? 😵‍💫

Sometimes, even when the world is burning - you gotta put on some war paint and get out into the world. Make time for things that bring you joy. ❤️✨

Not much here, just some extreme cuteness from Dot and Mirabelle.

Another good resource in the wake of this nightmare. Hopefully the Supreme Court will block this and other more extreme executive orders but I am still really worried a lot of the agenda especially leaving the Paris agreement and "Drill, baby Drill". www.ilrc.org/red-cards

Local Metro Detroit people and music friends: Remember Strangeways Radio? Would you be interested in joining a Strangeways Discord channel? I'm enjoying not using Facebook but I want to stay connected to the local scene...

Happy MLK Jr. Day, my friends. In 1968, Dr. King spoke the following words, which are equally true today: "The nation is sick. Trouble is in the land; confusion all around.... But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough, can you see the stars." We must find & feed the points of light.

Potential Hot Take: Bram Stoker's Dracula is about soul mates/fated love. Eggers' Nosferatu is about toxic relationships and lust. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. 😅

I broke down and cried this morning. The fires in California are devastating for everyone but what about the animals both wild and domestic that are impacted? It's only going to get worse as we turn a blind eye to climate change with our new leadership. I just want out of this dystopian nightmare.

Going to try hard to take a break from other current social media platforms and use this more often. Looking to get back into writing music reviews, so if you have any Shoegaze, Darkwave, PostPunk or Dreampop tunes - please feel free to send me a message. Thanks! ❤️✨
