Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 29/09/2026Article is now free: Agentic AI Email Bot on AWS Bedrock AgentCore: Part 2 We took our Slack and Teams internal AI agent (that we wrote ourselves) and made it respond to email. That poor robot. Execs love it, go figure buff.ly/1vp3rqP 000
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 28/09/2026Someone messaged me on Blue sky with what I thought was a valid question, so I responded. Their response to me is painfully AI generated. What do any of us gain by putting robots between us in conversation? AI is a terrible writer, and DOESN'T THINK. Don't outsource your smart human brain to a bot 000
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 25/09/2026In the worst case, AI will replace us we'll all be re-enacting the end of Office Space. In the best case, AI handles the boring stuff, and we get to handle the interesting edge cases. In case anyone finds a way to enable actual creativity in bots, please refer to the attached image. 000
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 22/09/2026New article available: Full /sdlc in a Single Skill Command aka, from ticket to Prod with your team of robots Software engineering becomes managing the team of robots. It's weird. Come read about it. It's paid but not for you: buff.ly/4sRQsHU 000
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 15/09/2026🔥 AI makes work for itself AI tools shouldn't require your most senior engineers to work 75-hour weeks just to operate them. Use AI to build deterministic tools, then let those tools do the work. Turn expertise into repeatable processes the whole team can safely operate. buff.ly/xMB0BN4 000
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 11/09/2026I think as a senior technical group, we have to remember that an AI tool is the very first (Beta, Alpha) take at how to do a job. We should be pouring that creativity and expertise into tools that have handles and safeguards to make them easy and simple enough to be operated by the whole team. 000

Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 10/07/2026Hey everyone! My wife and I have had a new baby, so I'm taking a break from social media. I will be spending all this time reading up on AI... lol, not really, gonna throw my phone off a bridge and pretend computers don't exist. Blogging paused, podcasting is recorded and won't be interrupted. ✌️ 000

Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 19/05/2026New article: teaching Claude Code to run a full SDLC workflow autonomously. This one covers the orchestrator pattern behind our multi-agent AWS AgentCore workflow: implement, review, deploy to DEV, validate in Slack, deploy to PROD, and validate again. It's paid, but not for you: buff.ly/sK3mEsQ 020
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 05/05/2026AgentCore MCP Gateway article is now free. If you’ve been wiring up MCP tools one by one, you’ve probably felt the pain—different auth flows, scattered secrets, and a growing pile of integration code just to make everything work together. buff.ly/raMo5VI 030

Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 25/03/2026Post is now free: migrating VeraResearch to first-class MCP tool support in Strands. Running multiple MCP servers caused tool name collisions and a pile of custom wrapper code to manage prefixes and filtering. This post shows how we deleted that complexity using native MCPClient buff.ly/fV2InLi 101
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 11/03/2026Post is now free on how to build audit logging across AI bots using python and AWS cloudwatch. Agentic bots make many calls per request, so audits get messy fast. This post shows the simple audit layer we added user identity, question, response, sessionID for easier debugging. buff.ly/2TZtqEt 000

Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 03/03/2026It's not just you, the entire github platform is unstable and crashing right now. Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 19/02/2026If you’re building agentic Slack bots with AWS, this one dives deep into the AgentCore MCP Gateway and how I’m wiring Vera into PagerDuty, GitHub, Atlassian, Splunk, Azure, and AWS CLI. Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 03/02/2026I built an entire AWS AgentCore agentic bot for Slack, and you can too. All architecture and code shared. I added memory per user so you can teach the bot how to help you with your job, and how to program. It's all built with Strands toolkit. Absolutely rad stuff here. More coming soon! 210
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 18/12/2025New article is live! It's about how I migrated my Agentic Strands-based bot to use the new first-class MCP Tool interface that Strands just shipped. It lets the bot register all MCPs concurrently and saves about 10 seconds on each response with lots of MCPs. buff.ly/HVuRfSP 010
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 10/12/2025Didn't make it in to #RSA this coming year. I had the best time at RSA previous years. Congratulations to all the folks that did make it in! I'll have to come up with another excuse to see everyone next year :D 010
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 25/11/2025New post: building audit logging for multi platform AI bots with Python and CloudWatch. Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 18/11/2025New post: AWS Strands + MCP, super simple real-world examples. Strands makes agentic workflows easy — multi-step actions, tool use, and open-source. I’m sharing small examples as I build them out. buff.ly/cFQZ2VI 010
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 30/10/2025You know how AI-generated photos have a yellow pallor? Attached photo for reference. There's an idea that the models were trained on older photos that were scanned into computers, and the photos had yellowed with age. Tech is weird. 000
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 28/10/2025In Part 5 of my “Building a Teams Bot with AI Capabilities” series, we dive into the fun stuff: how the bot actually reads conversations, grabs context, and posts AI-generated responses back into Teams. Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 27/10/2025If you've wondered how to REALLY use MCPs in your bots, me too. So as I've been experimenting and adding things to my Strands bot at work, I've been publishing all the code, including the MCPs which so far includes: * Atlassian * AWS * Azure * GitHub * PagerDuty Find it here: buff.ly/3sRrT5V 000
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 23/10/2025MinIO has stopped publishing their namesake object-store docker file, now requiring customers to build from source. This, with no notice, over 1B (billion) downloads from dockerhub, and just after a critical CVE was dropped. Have your teams check if they're using this image from dockerhub. 010
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 22/10/2025Do you know who subscribes to LetsDoDevOps[.]com? Turns out folks from: - Amazon - Intel - Hashicorp - Boeing - GitHub - SAP - Fortinet - Sandia National Laboratories - ZScaler - Anduril Please go subscribe, there's a free tier (but paid helps me buy caffeine to keep generating the content haha) 000
Kyler Middleton @letsdodevops.com · 21/10/2025When you interact with Bedrock services, your logs get put into a cloudwatch log group. That sounds great, right? Except ALL bot interactions get put into the SAME log group, making differentiating all those logs a pain. FireHose can solve this with some custom lambda. Link in the image :D 000
