When aliens helped ancient Egyptians socially construct ADHD 😂 To be fair, I haven't seen the Channel 4 piece yet. I'm looking for where it can be viewed online from outside the UK. Link?

Vacuums by Hoover. Tissues by Kleenex. Photocopiers by Xerox. The brands names have come to be synonymous with their products but we don't have to perpetuate that any more than the often anthropomorphized ways we reference probabilistic automation (rather than AI). buttondown.com/maiht3k/arch...

Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli.

From the 2007 movie Across The Universe, this gif shows Lucy, Jude, and Max singing Dear Prudence to Prudence, who has locked herself in a closet, both literally and metaphorically.

Sometimes I coin words. It's from a family tradition of mangling English, because we can. Mordinary - above average but not extraordinary Lessesary - recommended but not required #langsky

La Grange is trending and I'm reading all the Phish posts. Fans will understand why it took a moment to realize this isn't one of them. "Would you please make clear to me I'm peering out through your opacity."

In 2017, I arrived in Saigon for the first time. I took this pic in a taxi from the airport to my hotel. Seeing "Good Fuckin' Vibes" on the jacket of the motorbike driver in front of us was a perfect Welcome To Vietnam sign. Instantly my favorite pronoia omen. It's been Home Chi Minh City ever since

The view is from the back seat of a taxi. Looking past the driver's ID and reflection in the rear view mirror, there is a lot of traffic in front of the car. The nearest motorbike driver is wearing a jacket that says across the back: Good Fuckin' Vibes.

Yes & the “inherent uncertainty” crisis is intentionally created. I 1st noticed when courts took over deciding the Bush/Gore “election.” Examples go back much further. Goebbels said propaganda aims not to convince everyone of 1 thing but to divide people about what to believe. AI is obvious endgame.

I’ve been attuning myself to life this way for many years, looking out for what is new and different. I love the Russian word for this: ostranenie. I’m told the closest English equivalent is: defamiliarize. #langsky

Great example of noticing the extraordinary amidst the ordinary, and the unfamiliar hidden with the familiar. I aspire to keep my senses tuned for such noticing. #PracticalPronoia

I wonder what country this "foreign object" comes from? I ask because what Americans call arugula is known as rocket in other English speaking countries.

Yesterday I met a math teacher. Discussed my writing about infinity, including how Flatland is Spectrum-coded. Infinite diversity with no single origin point of divergence makes us #Neurounique. Properly understood, this paradigm has big implications for emotional regulation & mental health.

Just as we each have unique fingerprints, DNA, voice prints, retinal patterns & memories, we also have unique brains & nervous systems. There is no single point from which all divergence begins, nor a limit to diversity. Infinite diversity means we are each #Neurounique.

I’m not speaking on behalf of the ABA or about science. I’m pointing to what is there to be noticed that often goes unnoticed and misunderstood. What exactly do you mean by structural dysregulation?

100

There is no “right” way to think but there is an often innocently misunderstood relationship between thinking and feeling. We feel what we think as we think it. Understand this from observing personal experience and emotional regulation gets much easier.

Any technique could help anyone at any time but no technique will help everyone every time. Insight is how we grow. You can always notice something new and you can never notice everything.

Can you dig The Little Engine That Could and Sisyphus being the same story told from different perspectives?

9 years ago today, 6/30/17, I arrived in Vietnam for the 1st time. Almost immediately, I snapped this photo in a taxi going from the airport to my hotel. Through the windshield, the words on that driver's jacket hit me as an amazing Welcome To Saigon sign. It's my favorite picture I've ever taken.
