Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 12/10/2026There's just a really big gap between normal and fast movement in Tarkov. 010 1
Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 28/09/2026It might be similar to non-heterosexual behaviors in animals, where often times the just-effective-enough way for an animal to ensure it has the mojo to reproduce is to just be really horny in general and fuck anything that moves. 000 0
Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Another hypothesis for the origin of play is that it's from an excess in drive. That animals with excessive desire to pounce, chase, bite, etc are more likely to stay adequately fed. This would at first be competition among siblings but can be selected towards more tame and gentle behavior over time 100 1

Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 14/09/2026The sad thing I've noticed is that many of the people who were reeled in with UB have little interest in the rest of the game. They'll cram expensive staples into their Final Fantasy precons and after a year of being at FNM they still don't understand the stack, priority, any card older than Tarkir 010 1

Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 25/07/2026Primarily because the problem of the disease hurting humans could be addressed through changing human behavior on society (Better PPE, better healthcare, better working conditions). There's a reason these diseases are problems in poorer countries and why billionaire "altruism" firms lead action. 110 1
Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 25/07/2026It's typically only targeting a specific species so the ecological impact is small (niche very often filled by other mosquitos that don't happen to be the primary vector of a specific pathogen). It does reduce incidence of the pathogens but I have principle opposition to it like I do culling. 130 3
Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 25/07/2026They aren't special breeds of a species that just survive without biting, they're infertile mosquitos that can't successfully reproduce and will drop the population of the target species. It could cause another extinction if they did it enough. (it wouldn't but it's the same as culling) 100 1
Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 25/07/2026and, gonna be real, it's pretty easy to avoid getting stung even by aggressive species 120 2

Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 30/05/2026This isn't to say prehistoric humans didn't get sick, but that illnesses spread less like wildfire. As they did once humans started making large settlements. 000 0
Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 30/05/2026A lot of major plagues are deadly because they were infections that crossed animal-human boundary, and such boundary leaps happen more often when humans spend a lot of time around animals (domestication). Non-nomadic lifestyles also led to human (bodily) waste contaminating their water sources. 100 1
Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 30/05/2026We actually created plagues with agriculture and domestication. 100 1

Lesale @lesal.bsky.social · 12/04/2026I think it's a moral performance sort of thing. Like it's not just that having something spoiled for you is disappointing. It's that someone posting spoilers is seen as either intentionally malicious or callously negligent. Events like this are seen as invitations for someone to do something "bad". 100 1
