Hey @diterlizzi.bsky.social I just found this card and noticed the references of the 2nd Ed. MM and the Modron. By any chance do you remember if this illustration was for D&D originally and WOTC used it for MTG? or it was intended as a MTG card and the references are just that? Thanks, huge fan!

There were a lot of great cards in the block, and only a handful were wedding themed (Wedding Ring I love as a card) but most of the theme was Innistrad adjacent: The classic vampires, werewolves and such were still Gothic Horror themed and still low fantasy.

You can SEE the amount of effort they spend on "canon" sets when all we got recently was Ravnica with Fedoras, Cowboy Planeswalkers and teenagers from the 80s with Casio wristwatches. Bloomburrow was a breath of fresh air in the otherwise cynical cashgrab that WOTC has become

This color combination of legendaries for energy were desperately needed. On Kaladesh block, UGR were the main colors for energy. Why did we got so many Jeskai energy cards beats me. Also Primal Prayers is a really cool reimagining of Aluren that we can now play in our energy decks!

WOTC hasn't really cared for their audience in a LONG time. 5e kept producing unfinished and unpolished books with only a smidge of lore even when people where begging for more I think Planescape was the last nail in the coffin for me. It was so disappointing...

Whats my 10/10 album? I'm recently re discovering DT. I consider both this and Awake the pinnacle of the band No need for extra floritures and showoff guitars and keyboards. The solos and melodies make sense within the context of the songs and provide atmosphere, change or progression.

I felt like that with MTG a few months ago. I use to play with a super serious rule lawyery group with mid and high powered decks and now I got into a really casual community. I'm really enjoying the lack of pressure and anxiety

WUBRG Wednesday This counts? On 2013 I organized a League of "Pauper" Commander that included 10 uncommons, we called it "Middle Class" and played 1v1. We banned some cards like FOW and Ancient Tomv but still some decks were busted and one really stands out because it was so innovative:
