He also played through like 80 hours of Monster Hunter Wilds with us before he realized "... I can UPGRADE MY ARMOR?!", after constantly wondering why he was dying to quickly/often. We were like "... How have you been surviving AT ALL?!!!" 🤣

My friend skips ALMOST ALL story stuff in all games (sometimes there's an exception, but it seems random? Haha), AND he watches everything on like 2x speed when it comes to shows/movies. ... I fear him... o_o (but also love him, haha.)

Even just little bitty connections here and there. Those are still dazzling and delightful to our silly little brains. A little joke here. An "I've been through that, too!" connection. It all matters. None of that means you don't get to feel the way you do right now, or expect different of yourself

It's an RPG debuff, and a debuff is temporary and CAN be removed. Just the idea that everything you're dealing with isn't permanent can help. And, not to be selfish, but there are dozens upon dozens of us here who would be OVERJOYED to get to partake in your continued existence.

So... that's just an example. That's my safety line. 'Cause I think you don't necessarily need to defeat the Negative Ninja dogpile. You just anchor yourself to something and stick a little river breathing rod out of it so you can breathe until they get tired and slump off of you.

I know I do things for her that wouldn't be the same coming from someone else. Anyone can make her pancakes, but she especially loves and would miss MY pancakes. So, I might go 4 days not really getting quality time with her like I want, but I know the math is that our connection still matters lots

It's easy to think that combating negative stuff is just to inject positive stuff, but it's not really that easy, sadly. I just try to reduce it to math. Like, even if TODAY, my daughter came home from school and went straight to her room to tablet it up with her cousins, I know she adores me.

What helps me is to trust patterns. For real, like even maybe keep a journal? (I'm considering it). Then, you'll chronicle these dips/dogpiles, and then the emergence from them, no matter how long or bad they get. And it's something from your own brain you can reference to know how it can end. 🤷‍♂️

I know I'm just some rando, but I have been struggling lately with these same thoughts. It's really hard because they friggin' dogpile you. So, it almost doesn't matter, in the moment, if there's a huge, beautiful world outside of the dogpile, because you're currently lying under it.

Because... people just deserve to know when their look is on-point. ^_^

I'm glad! It's tough being a neurodivergent dude on the interwebs, 'cause I'm essentially a stranger to everyone, but I'm on a mission to stop foregoing compliments out of knee-jerk fear of creeping folks out. So I'm trying to go with things people at least somewhat choose (like hairstyles, clothes)

Hard yes. I've felt like this my whole life, here and there. Essentially inadvertent dismissal? I feel like people always assumed I had it all under control, or didn't feel that THEY were the person I'd want to talk to, etc. And like, I'm an introvert, but I still needs mah peoples.

Y'all... I dunno what they put in these, but I CANNOT stop eating them. Every time Publix BOGOs them, I just stock up on like 10 boxes for my work desk. 😆 I DO eat other snacks, like granola bars, apples, bananas, etc.

I gotcha! My best friend and I used to do that in high school. Haven't gotten to do that in years, though. Nowadays, usually when I suggest playing a single-player game "together" with anyone, they're just like "Oh, it doesn't have co-op?!", heh. SOMEtimes I can get my daughter to humor me. 🙂
