This took about 2h 30mins. Most of the time is just trying to find a brush that works haha. Slowly but surely I'm finding the ones I like and putting them in the favourites pile.

Sketchtober #1: Scarecrow Glad there is this kind of social event. Gets me to practise sketching more and thinking of concepting and being more efficient with my brushstrokes and techniques :) (In Sketchtober I pick whatever prompt from any prompt list and paint what inspires me at that moment.)

A foggy and bleak scene with a hanged man posed as a scarecrow on the left. Behind it a mound of corpses. In the distant a group of soldiers approaching the scene.

Oh heck, Sketchtober 2026. Think this year I'll just do 15 sketches or so. This time there's way too much going on in my life right now :D As a reminder there's last years 31 sketches.

Been under a lot of stress recently. A lot of painting, a lot of pressure in trying to "get good" so that I could get hired. First time in weeks I tried to just paint without a plan and I love my painting so far... And I feel this is hopefully many of similar style paintings to come.

Close up of a work in progress painting. A man's face partly covered by a torn cloth. A hand is holding the man's head and the cloth still.

Undertaker, the Gatekeeper of the Underworld. She's a cool and fun character to play! Really strong, especially in groups. Had a fun time painting her when I got the right reference eventually!

Haven't done a study in a while so here's one. Was done in a study session I put together in our school discord, so hopefully I'd able to do these at least once a week again :D Reference from @trueref.bsky.social !

The rough sketches for Duchess. This time went straight with color and no lines. Not sure if it did speed up the process at all, haha.

Duchess, the Night thief. This one took a while. Also painted something completely different first but then decided to try again and it turned out so much better.

Trying to also push myself to create quick "thumbnails" or sketches. I usually don't do them like this. I just go for it and switch ideas on the fly.

Way back when I painted Sif in Ornstein's armour from a glitched out scene of @lobosjr.org 's randomizer run. Should try to do these more but rarely the glitches are this cool, ahah.

Late #portfolioday post! Oops! (been busy packing and moving out) Hey! I'm Leo from Finland and I like to paint fantastical things, usually with dramatic lighting and dark themes. I'm looking for work and open for commissions! For either you can contact me through my portfolio site: www.leoval.art

A six eyed dragon is staring down a glowing Fae. Behind the dragon is a dead soldier leaning against a pillar. In the distant is a forest on fire.

In the image a hooded blindfolded woman with bloodied apron is standing in a crypt and is raising their hands in joy. The other hand holds a magical dagger. Below her is a male corpse with an open chest wound and ghostly souls escaping through his mouth and eyes. The souls and blood from the wound are being ingested by the dagger.

A scene of a mermaid and two mermen behind her. Merman on the left is pointing towards a drowning knight in armor in the foreground with a dagger stuck in their neck. The mermaid is reaching towards the drowning knight. In the distance is more unfortunate souls drowning. Bioluminescence lights the scene from below and fire and moon light from above.

Book cover of a lady in white sheer dress leaning sorrowfully against a grave embellished by Skulls and flower patterns. A crying angel statue missing an arm is protecting the grave with her spear. The scenery is set in a twilight with the sun setting in the far left and moon lighting up the scene from the right.

Artist! Quote with your blood art! Well she is the goddess of blood!

A female deity without skin and missing abdomen is sitting on a throne composed of fleshy substance. Top half of her head is a kind of chalice with "blood vessels" resembling tree roots. On her chest and shoulders is a collar depicting a crow that is clawing into her. A one massive eye is looking at the viewer from underneath the Throne.

Another photostudy. Feel like I suck at painting so bad right now, which I guess means I'm doing a level up soon. Or I've just been fiddling with my brush and pressure settings too much that I'm re-learning my tools in a way. Anyways, the grind continues to improve my skills!

Rendering study. Trying to get rid of rust I got from not painting properly for a few weeks because of flu. Kind of painted this twice as I had trouble blending initially. Remembered that I had set my brush opacity to 50 - 100% per pen pressure. Putting it back to 0 - 100% I got back more control.

Apparently it's #portfolioday! I paint fantasy with a darker tone, perhaps someone would say a dark fantasy artist but I wouldn't go that niche :) Been trying to find work for the past 6 months but no proper bites yet 😔 Anyways, here's some latest works of mine! Commissions are open!

A digital painting of a Fenix rising from the ashes of its former self standing in front of a mountainous snowy landscape.

Digital painting of a lady Mage with clothing inspired by the Romani people, casting a magical shield. She's standing on top of a cliff of a Fjord-ish landscape.
Lore:
"The Bohiym nomads are not usually regarded as magic users and thus thought to be easy prey for their wealth. To the outside the Bohiym look like travelling dancers and musicians. Their simple nomadic life helps them keep a lot of their earnings and usually repurpose them into jewellery that they wear on their body."
