In October this year I published my father’s first book on Franz Schubert – an account of what happened to the manuscripts of some of the world’s greatest music after the composer’s death. A work of scholarship and passion and described as “a riveting read” by Professor Richard Stokes

Got a very special gift for my book launch from the person who produced this incredible album of the African Jazz Pioneers. The AJPs are at the heart of my novel set in #SouthAfrica and #Ukraine and their music is the sound of SA apartheid resistance. It’s going to be hanging in my writing room.

A really wonderful Book Launch Party for Mbaqanga Nights: plenty of mbaqanga music, dancing, #SouthAfrican wine and book talk. The perfect start for Book Number 4.

Thrilled to announce my latest novel, Mbaqanga Nights, is live today! An amazing story of jazz in South Africa; and emigration from Ukraine, Kirkus Reviews has called it a “A time-jumping… story of oppression and resilience.”
