Been looking for a #hardcover of Night Shift by @stephenking.bsky.social for many years. I came across a first edition today at a used bookstore, but without the dust cover. I don't usually buy #books without it, but I had to get this one. CAD $7.50. I found it with the dust cover on AbeBooks for...

I'm so excited! 🤩 Finally starting #DisquietGods right now. I just finished Dregs of Empire and the two collections of short stories so I can finally delve into the penultimate #book of #TheSunEater series by Christopher #Ruocchio. My favourite #ScienceFiction series! #avidreader #BookSky 💙📚

Think of your #TBR as a menu, as it encourages a more relaxed and enjoyable approach to reading. Instead of feeling pressured to finish a list, viewing it as such allows you to choose based on your current mood and interests, reducing the stress associated with a TBR list. #books #BookSky 📚💙

After finishing Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence as my first book of the year, these are my carry-over #books from 2024, except for #Stargate. I just started that one.

A Goodreads listing of 4 books on my currently-reading list. It lists Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson, Light Bringer by Pierce Brown, The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, and Stargate: Rebellion by Bill McCay.

After reading #TheHobbit, I've jumped right into #LordOfTheRings with this old copy of The Fellowship of the Ring. I do have the deluxe illustrated edition of #LOTR, but it's pretty chunky and pricey. It will stay safe on the shelf. 😅

Why is it that every Christmas I am suddenly in the mood to read a classic #book? I've had this deluxe illustrated edition of #TheHobbit for a while. I decided to take it off the shelf and out of its slipcase for the first time. I first read this in the early 2000s. A re-read is due. #BookSky 🪐📚💙

Here is a chart by #StoryGraph. I usually read more books per year, but I was distracted by gaming at the beginning of the year and then by COVID and other health issues that prevented me from reading from August to October.

A text image that reads, "Did you know?... In Iceland, books are exchanged as Christmas Eve presents, then you spend the rest of the night in bed reading them and eating chocolate. The tradition is part of a season called Jolabokaflod, or The Christmas Book Flood', because Iceland, which publishes more books per capita than any other country, sells most of its books between September and November due to people preparing for the upcoming holiday."
