I wanted to like the movie more but it cant help but constantly swap between fun, engaging cinema and horrendous dog shit. Half the film is pretty good, all the scenes with Manang were really cool, but its as if it was worried it would lose you if it didnt have Cringe Dance Scene™ every 10 minutes.

This movie deserves more love... The artistry alone is stunning but it's also a fun critique of other movies in the vein of Barbie or Wall-E which Mark Fisher describes, I think quite poignantly, in Capitalist Realism as "performing our anti-capitalism for us, allowing us to consume with impunity."

This aged well with the advent of social media pushing for even more extreme beauty standards, but the messaging at the end kinda falls apart. Andy's spiral into ruthlessness pushed everyone away yet she still got to reap the rewards once she returned to normalcy. Plus Anne Hathaway is pretty, wth!

This shit was chemically engineered to produce an anxiety attack. Fletcher is truly fucked up but the movie uses it to obscure how depraved of a character Andrew is, the cracks in his facade being easily attributed to buckling under pressure. Nicole didn't deserve that though. Lives up to the hype

An absolutely exhilarating and haunting experience. The ominous backdrop of the Overlook serevs the themes of domestic violence as Wendy and Danny struggle to break free of the cycle perpetuated by Jack, all tied together with an oppressive score that never allows you a moment to breathe. Cinema.

I genuinely wasn't expecting this movie to be good wth... The meta-narrative was maybe a bit excessive but worked in favor of justifying some truly evocative shots, it just didn't really go as far as I wanted. The Onceler/"I collect many rare funko pops" monologue was such a good scene, fun watch.

This shit absolutely cooks. While deeply and consistently funny it also effortlessly portrays Hansen as a gross, skimy Light Yagami type as you watch Plumb get fucked over and gaslit the whole runtime. The shot composition fucks, the framing and color of some shots is absolutely chilling. Cinema.

Fun book with some really cool world building. The ending was fine, kinda disappointing but did a good job setting up the next book. But like, the celestials and the time dilation stuff is all really cool (I know some angels that dilate), turns out WotC does know how to put good books out...

Wild how Weapons wasn't Cregger's first getting-stabbed-in-the-face-with-a-fork type movie... This is a bad movie that does a lot poorly asaide from being insensitive. But it does some things alright, having both main characters be sexist in opposite ways and growing as people almost worked for me.

A shockingly good addition/conclusion to the DAO story. The new companions are all likeable, the boss fights have some cool set pieces, and the primary conflict is satisfyingly nuanced The Witch Hunt ending with Morrigan is so sad but I can't imagine it playing out any other way DA2 please be good

Cregger did it again Having never played a Resident Evil game I still enjoyed the movie, some shots were obviously inspired by the games but they weren't actually that distracting. The film tells a loving story about gig-work being absolutely miserable and having a kid being completely terrifying.

After Playing KotOR and DAO I went in expecting a fun RPG, I wasn't entirely expecting a fun RPG deeply rooted in themes of colonialism and xenophobia. The companions felt less present than in DAO and the build-crafting was deemphasized but the scope of the choice and consequence was really cool.

Yeah, I get the combo, I just think with Ad Naus having fallen out of favor in cEDH lately in response to the slop meta playing Broodlord for PitA seems like a reasonable line, maybe you can't fit it in your list, but in a meta where Zirda can take tournament wins it can't be *that* bad

Finally beat the one game I missed and it's fine The complaints about how yappy it is are real but I just mashed through the dialog without reading it. Ultra Necrozma was kinda a pushover, even under-leveled Incin two-tapped it Toxic stall Mudsdale unbalanced the game but it's Pokémon so still fun

This was such a waste of potential... Some of the ideas in here are really cool but like, it felt like it had such a poor use of runtime tho. Nothing really happens aside from a few Hype Moments and Aura™, it feels like a boring B-plot from Skeleton Crew, and decidedly NOT worth the $15.

I've never been so absolutely moved by a book where I felt the need to immediately reread it until this but it's genuinely so beautiful. There's so many little details and bits of imagery that felt so much more profound the second time. The start is still cringe but that might be intentional tbh.

Read this on recommendation and the start had me really expecting not to like it, and ultimately I do think sections are cringe-inducingly bad. But none of that matters because the story is so fucking good. It made me feel awful, had me genuinely anxious, and got me full on crying. God I love art.
