Hiking to the top of a mountain and climbing up a firetower to watch a panorama of fireworks all across NH and Maine lighting up across the horizon like a re-enaction of the end of Avengers: Endgame where everyone shows up through the portals was an admittedly cool as hell way to spend the Fourth.

It really is amazing how much difference a moonless night makes versus a full moon in rural areas where there's no artificial light. Coming home from the pub on a night with a full moon, I can see perfectly damn fine all the way to my door. New moon? I need my phone flashlight to find the doorknob.
